Thats what I'm thinking about, But I just don't want to give wannabe botters an idea to make botting easier.
As opposed to non-wannabe botters? Like the serious ones? LMAO

No, in some case when you are play SRO and your comp unexpectedly restarts, the data of PK2 files might be currupted, but it still can open the client and play the game. I've got a problem like that ago, whenever I summon the lv45 horse, SRO crash. And afetr I reinstall the game it's fixed, no more crash.

Yes. Would that mean anything to you?

Don't get me wrong.. I wasn't trying to be an ass.. I was just saying that banning cuz of pk2? why would you even make a topic like that? I could understand if you couldn't get stuff to work and you were mad or something, but other then that it doesn't make sense IMO.. pk2 modding just "spices" up the game a bit.. nothing wrong with that

I also heard, but can't confirm so please don't start talking shit, that you can make each tier in a degree appear differently. So for example you could see if someone has a 64 68 or 72 weapon. That would be a huge unfair advantage. Again I just heard this I think once or twice, so I have no confirmation of it.
correct, u can see anyone wearing highest teir of 8th in 9th degree so u know who to take out first. there are also many things u can do which can be more beneficial
ex: change theif suit to cape so u can see what lvl a theif really is and what tier of 8th they are
dont know if thats possible but if it is...
These 2 quotes are the ones that generate interest for me in editing those files.
...sure having a full frontal from the dead chick while she follows you around is nice...not interested in pretending I'm wearing equipment I really haven't earned...or switching around uniques..meh.
An avid collector of good animated avatars and signatures because I'm just that cool.
ODIN BOT UNIONS *More will be added as they appear or change*
Suggestions to fix iSRO:
-Gold wipe
-Daily Bot bans
-Make SoX items acquirable only with Honor Points

Editing pk2 files can't be seen from the server in any way.
Yes, but it would be very easy for Joymax to put in a file integrity check on the client side. So when you try to log in, it will perform a check (maybe MD5 sum) against some key files on the client and send the result back to Joymax. Bad result = you don't get in.
Sure, they don't have that now, but it would be pretty simple to implement.
Missing the good times in SRO...
SRO: 1x, STR Blader (Thebes) 54, STR blader (Venice) 0x, INT wizard (Venice) 19, INT spear (Venice) 34, STR rogue/bard (Venus) 0x, STR blader (Venus) 8x, INT bard/cleric (Gaia)
Well yesterday after I switched the skills for the book 1 kd to book3 kd etc. I didnt get a runtime error until i came to a monsters...
when i restarted the client it downloaded some kind of patch... then I put in the stock media.pk2 file in the game dir and it downloaded the patch again..
The stock file was last edited on the 12th of february 2007 and after the update the file in the game dir said it was last edited on the 4th of march 2007. So yes, they check the pk2 files.
