Ban cuz of pk2 editing
I was just wondering, there are separate opinions about banning players who edited pk2 files. So can I be banned if I play with hex and edit .pk2 files?

update: Abrams finally got his sun shield. Sig to be upd.

No and yes.
For now, no.
But later they will probably make a patch to detect changes in .pk2 files and if yours are modified you might get like a 3 day ban or whatever.

Bit of a bad idea really. what if a virus changed it? Or your computer restarted while playing silkroad and the file got corrupted?

Well it would be a first offense aka 3 day ban. Or 1 day ban. Whatever JoyMax decides.

i think they have enough to worry about before banning people who are just altering the look of certain things which are only seen by them anyway

What about character change scrolls? No need to buy those anymore---- JN loses money.
I also heard, but can't confirm so please don't start talking shit, that you can make each tier in a degree appear differently. So for example you could see if someone has a 64 68 or 72 weapon. That would be a huge unfair advantage. Again I just heard this I think once or twice, so I have no confirmation of it.
I think JN has every right to ban people for it, considering that one of their item mall items is now pointless. And if the second thing is true, even more reason.
As someone earlier said someone's files may get corrupted by an error.
So I think taht instead of a ban, you just can't open the client.
Then if you have repeated attempts to trying to get in with a modified client, or you find a way to work around the lock, you get banned.

Dammit, whatever, I dont give a rat's ass about it, I can live about it.
I just dont wanna be banned without a prior warning. So... I hope stupid JM will be that much responsible to warn ppl about banning cuz pk2 editing.
Other thing, u cant change the looks of 2nd and 3rd tear weapons, u can change only the whole deg.
And 1 more, it's not a hack. U just edit stuff from a client side, nothing to do with server. My opinion - do whatever the hell u want, as long as it doesnt disturb other players.

correct, u can see anyone wearing highest teir of 8th in 9th degree so u know who to take out first. there are also many things u can do which can be more beneficial
ex: change theif suit to cape so u can see what lvl a theif really is and what tier of 8th they are
dont know if thats possible but if it is...

Pk2 editing doesnt allow you to get free stuff on item mall. It doesnt allow you to get a free pet, free face lift or what not. pk2 editing only affects the computer it was edited in. If they changed their face to look like something else, other people wont see that change unless they did the exact pk2 editing. Otherwise, only the person who edited it can see it.

I know that, do you think I haven't seen the thousands of pk2 threads in the past weeks?
When did I imply anything about free pets or other item mall items?
When/if someone buys a character scroll they usually do it because they don't like the way they look, not for other people.

You cant get banned, but editing .pk2's defeats the purpose of any further updates, whats the point of the next update if you know what its all about
well if you did already edit it then just remevoe the 1st degree and bump everything by one degree that way everything looks right. An NO you cant get banned.....yet...

lol and how long is it going to be before we get this update, we are just making due
------------------------------
Well I edited it aswell. But now i regret it, look at it like this. We wait 4more months for the 90 update to see what we have seen already. Then wait anoter 4+months for another update. so its more than 8+months to see something new in sro. Im definetly quiting once i reach 90. or when euro opens. Only thing to look forward now to is Euro or Islam which may come to us in a year or two or more or .....just never

Thats what I'm thinking about, But I just don't want to give wannabe botters an idea to make botting easier.
