Jobs on JSRO and Hunters

Post by satman83 »

Now first off let me say that i found out something, its not 100% proven as of yet. but if what i have heard is right.

In the JSRO once you end your respective job, hunter, theif or trader you have to wait a full 7 days before you can "job" again. now this may be old news to some of you, but even if it is what do you think about it i for one hate the idea of having to wait so long

Now the other topic at hand is Hunters, now a firend of mine whos lv 28 was being hassled by a lv42 hunter. After a while i went to Jangans west gate...put on a theif suit and i killed the hunter, only to have him cry that its not fair for a high lvl (i.e me) to kill a low lvl (i.e him). and when i tried to explain he was doing the same thing to my firend it was like trying to explain the chaos theory to a 5 year old. He really had no idea how what he did to my mate was the same as what i did to him.

Anyway its like Hunters are the retarded "rude boys" (jocks for all you Americans out there) they think its ok to kill a theif or hassle one 20 lvs lower then them. But if you do they same thing to them they cry and moan about it. Frankly i think Hunters are just as bad as theifs are in some respect...if not even worse, i mean at least a theif kills you to get your items or defending against a hunter...where as Hunters kill because its a form of sexual thrill to them (well thats how the act and how i precive it).

So can Thieves
So can Traders
So can Anyone in this game.

If you put on any jobsuit, be prepared to die. Thats the way it is.

I like being able to do any job, but i think they should take away the teleporter resetting the 15 min cooldown time after you remove the suit. That would be enough for me.

with the new job updates beeing a theif is gonna be useless because no traders wanna do more then 1 star... Theifs can use ambush skills now but for WHAT to kill a hunter? which will get you no money what so ever... theives will turn out to be a useless job in the new update

my hero :D i got owned so many time by those annoying thiefs who pop up high lvl npc thiefs that kill me on 1* (lost 150k and gained nothing)

next update should change it so that thiefs, hunters, merchants, npc thiefs only pick on attack others that are 0-5 lvls away from each other

Hardly anyone who plays this game is JUST a thief or JUST a hunter. You meet assholes in any game. Don't blame the job, blame the player.

And the second trade update thing has been posted for months now. Dunno when we're ever going to get it because all anyone wants is euro euro euro. Even though euro without second trade update or security improvement is barely better than what we have now.

My idea of perfect hunting or thiefing is a thief thiefing a multi star trade that is + or - 5 levels from him. A hunter should only kill thievs that are attacking trades or killing npc thiefs off one stars. A one star is sposed be in danger only by its npc thievs and field mobs.

P.S. I am a freakin post whore today...I lost count. Work is boring :)

The main thing about it is the attitude. I thief that just wants to thief to be experiencing the game should at least say sorry or something to the scared lvl 20 that just got pwned by a lvl 80 npc thief. DAM..SORRY FOR THAT DOUBLE POST...DOH

A hunter's job is to protect the trade routes. Someone who enjoys roleplay (this *IS* an mmoRPG) might enjoy patrolling the trade routes and killing thieves.

A thief does not have to run around in his or her thief suit to spot multistar trades. A thief is acting the role of a criminal. A thief should expect to be attacked by ANY hunter he meets while in thief suit. If hunters let him go they are exceptionally nice. If they kill him they are just doing what is expected.

Now, it's different if a high level hunter chases a low level thief down who runs away, who has no loot, and is no threat, just to laugh at them. When I used to go on a patrol (which was fun) I would generally chase away 3x and lower thieves but not kill them if they ran. I killed any and all horses and camels belonging to thieves because they could be popping. Some thieves complain, wah wah. They never think about the fact that they would rob a level 20 multistar in a SECOND without even batting an eye. They just say "oh, you're griefing me cause you're high level." Ha, ha. Too bad. I put time and effort into getting my level and I'll be damned if I'm going to *not* get the most out of it. If that means killing every thief I possibly can, you have no right to complain to me about it. Especially poppers.

In real life theivs can only rob multi star banks...the one star banks but be left alone. A cop can only kill a criminal if he or she is around his same age. Lol...im bored. A hunter is like a sro cop...he can kill whoever he sees in a thief suit. You dont walk into a bank with a mask on and an ak-47 just to "chill" so yea....you suit up, you die.

Sides...you should wait till about at least 4x to do any real thieving/hunting. Low level hunters and thievs get pwned, so its even on both sides.

Ya I hate the 7 day thing, I am going to switch from trader to hunter. I think I should able to be hunter by this thursday. When it comes to jobbing, there are very few honorable players so you have to watch out.
Well I have only seen traders do multi-star trades with hunters cuz there isn't that many ppl on server and I haven't seen any theives either.

The thing is that when you job you are either doing it to be helpfull or make money thats it.
When I thief I dont 1* pop unless they are high enough lvl to defend themselves or else its not really that much fun. Multi stars are different if a trader is doing it they are fair game in my eyes what ever lvl they are if I dont get them somebody else will.
When I am a hunter and i come across a low lvl theif I ask them to either take their suit off or to set off running :P :P. i dont run around with the flag on looking for thiefs I will do the odd patrol but only really when I am doing a union run

I personally only job if there isnt any pvp going on. (pacific   )

I AGREE TOTALLY....

-----------------------

Just a thought but has any 1 ever rezzed a thief/hunter/trader and then
re-killed them or am i the only 1  ( is that just cruel? ) I've been done that way...

BTW: Something i thing every one should try is getting the drug of Typhoon from the grocery trader and using it while being a thief/hunter ?
LMAO try it some time no one can out run u even on a horse the highest walk is like 65% or something like that D.O.typhoon is 100% and very high but worth it. i did it and killed lots of thief's 1 time, till this faker riding a red horse back-flipped on me and just about killed me i barely got away from that 1... lol

meh all that sounds well and good but most hunters are just jocks on some ego trip. They're not hunting to protect ppl. I've literally watched hunter ride by me while im popping some poor lvl 20 (yeah i know im awful) know full and well they were high enough lvl to kill me. Most hunters i see are just looking for a fight i'll be standing there with my lvl 16 weapons out and some lvl 42+ hunter will come along, go away, come back as a hunter just to kill me. Then they have the nerve to run when i pull out my 52 blade i mean WTF what happeened to your honor so quickly.

And as i mentioned above i pop lvl 20 1* trades why. Cause its easy. Thiefs get no break in that game there not even a slight amount of balance. We can be attcked by hunters and traders, we get penalties if we kill to much, the only way we get thief exp is very smal i have a full camel 5* with good loot and i went from 2.94%--->2.96 so the pay off blows. You end up spending more on pots and pills fighting away npc thefs than you actually make in the process. Hunter get a nice pay off for killing wanted thiefs + hunter exp. Merchants get nice pay from trading. Thief get shit. We don't make alot of money. We don't get any breaks. We get shit from almost every player on the server. You always have to be on the look out cause any minute somebody cause become an a**hole and try to kill you. And i wouldn't do any other job in the game cause thief PWN and look dam good doing it so yes i will take my anger out on the nearest lvl 20 1* i see same goes for any trade my lvl or a bit above. You can't expect us to be walked all over and then not kick back thats just stupid

P.S. I can;t wait for the job update so hunters will stay hunters and thiefs will stay thiefs. I get tired of getting killed by high lvl hunter who log off then back on and put on theif gear to take my stuff. Noble and righteous indeed.

so what is your point then satman? by actually killing him (with your heroic acts) you created another circle of hate.
its simple don`t job if you cant handle it or don`t want to lose your loot/life

as a hunter killing any thief is simply your job call it lame or whatever but any thief would then run around with a low level weapon so hunters wont attack him  when faking it and being killed most cry and claim to be low level, of course some really are low level but the fact that you take a job you should also consider the risks.

disabling 1* star popping would be sure a nice way for gold companies to get their cash, so i am actually glad this is not disabled.
low level or not don`t take a job if you cant handle it, you wont go to urushi as a level 20 then cry later on that you died, so i can not understand why you would go thieving/hunting/trading at lower level and whine about it later.

In case you CANNOT see why people hate thieves, your "lewt" comes straight out of the pocket of a trader. You are taking what is NOT yours, you are directly stealing my money. Just like you hate the hunter for killing you for no reason, us traders lose not just our exp but quite a bit of money as well. Further, the very nature of thieving lends itself to trickery, lots of "just trust me, I promise I won't do...." which of course you know they will never keep their promises, which they then get angry at you for blowing them off. There is no pleasing a thief. Their whole mindset is "it's mine! I take what I want!", and I have NEVER met an honorable thief that would even ress a lowbie bystander they killed by parading their lvl 4x transport through the tigers in Jangan.

I was popped by a thief once, who did the whole attack my transport thing to get it close to dead, and as soon as it was gone one-shot killed me. I was fine with it. Take the goods, go, a bystander comes up and resses me after he left. I'm standing there trying to take off my flag, and the jerk comes back and kills me again. I had already given up my goods, I waited for him to leave, I was taking off my flag. Another time, I was popped, but I escaped at the life of my camel. Fine, I'm running back to DW, and getting attacked by earth ghosts so I can't get my flag off. Along comes a lvl 2x thief who just hits me for no reason, I had no transport or anything. Thieves do that crap too. In this case I whupped the lowbie but still, I've had the same thing happen with thieves higher than me also. I've experienced too many cases of thieves doing crappy things and not nearly enough doing any kind of "decency" at all. Meanwhile, I've seen a lvl 50 hunter walk up to a popping party of thieves near the docks (they don't even try to hide, they just sit there knowing the traders have to go through there), who were all lower level. And he didn't begin to attack any of them, he just waited there warning them to not touch the traders. Until a lvl 6x thief comes up behind him and one-shots him. Yeah, some honor there.

Thieves are rightfully hated in real life, and they are shunned in the game for the same reason. The life is not glorious, and surprisingly people don't like those that take their stuff. Imagine that.

And to the inevitable "it's just a game" comment, yeah, it's a game that I'm spending my time on grinding to earn gold, to run a trade run, only to have it stolen in two seconds by a thief that doesn't even belong in Jangan, they ought to be popping traders going to Hotan. Thus, when they do this they are directly causing me to feel the loss of the hours of my time I spent earning that money in the first place. Go take on traders your own level, and I'll happily deal with thieves at mine.

+ 10, thats what hunters are, and what they do. All Hunters act tough
when they think your a low lvl. Otherwise they run like made, because
there cowards.

Well by killing him i was trying to show him its not nice to pick on a low
lv. Hell if he was fighting a theif his lvl then i woundnt of gotten involved.
Hell even after someone ressed him he just stood in the gate and kept
trying to nuke my wolf  . I mean what does that prove about so
called hunter "honor". Its all fine killing someone 20 lvs lower then you.
But come across a theif/hunter/trader your lvl and your run away like
a pussy. WTF is that all about.

And i say its just as bad as 1* poppers, at least they get gold out of it.
i can just image some moronic jock laughing to himself killing a low lvl
thief but then crying when a high lvl comes and kills him.

But what really gets me is that most hunters dont see whats wrong with
killing a lower lvl...Yet they see a high lvl theif killling them as something
thats completly wrong?? :?

Well I am an honourable thief I jacked a trade when I was lvl 39 on alps the traders were lvl 2* and they needed a hunter so that they could multi star so i joined their party. I took them the long way round jangen killing their thiefs but they didnt know that all the time i was in union chat organising an ambush with a couple of my union buddies.
as soon as we got top the bottom bridge in jangen i left their party and put my thief suit on and started the killing. my union buddies came and finished them off with me we picked the trade up from the multi stars and started popping the one stars when they were dead we bandit scrolled and sold the lewt.

I saw the traders about an hour later doing another trade run I pmed them and they were pissed to say the least I my self was feeling pretty bad about it. I ended up paying each one of the traders back the money that they lost out of my own pocket.

If that isnt honourable I dont know what is. I have since helped them with a couple more runs and so I think my debt has been repaid.

fok c'mon no way, dude, hunter is like a wave that clears the way for traders.. you see.. if i was lvl 80 and there was lvl 40 thief i'd kill him without hesitation, b/c he might go and pop lvl 20 trader.. so yea. thieves deserves to die right there.

and I could have left lvl 20 thieves alone, but then again any lvl can hold a lvl 20 weapon and I can't tell the difference.
