If it's for a construction job, definitely cold. Your body already heats up from the physical activity and you can add layers as necessary.

On a side note though, you get sick easier when you're cold than when you're hot.

Extremely hot weather --> stressful

Extremely cold weather --> painful

I dislike both equally, it seems that when it's hot I can't wait for cold weather and vice versa. But I would have to pick hot(because it's cold right now).

Its not the heat that makes hot so bad to many people, but rather the humitiy.

Cold. If its cold you can do something about it like putting on an extra swetter or gloves but when its hot you can only do so much.
