A question regarding to Strike And Smash

Hi,
I'm a pure STR blader...
I was wondering if a Strike and smash will be useful, or should i just use Chains, KD+stab and again..?

Strike and smash costs relatively little MP, but does relatively low damage.
Chains do pretty nice damage, but they cost most MP and they lower durability faster.

Personal preference
I would get strike and smash if sp farming wasnt so boring ^^

The smashing skills are basically useless. I got them anyway, because I thought that Crosswise Smash would be 2 Full Damage hits, but it turned out to be 2 half damage hits.

Evil Cut Blade and its series have the same stats as the Smashing ones, they just look funny close range.
