SHHHHHH Don't Tell anyone.
I wonder if any of you IT folks out there or anyone else can give me an idea of how much bandwidth is being used up while running SRO. I log on at work and check my character and maybe stall at lunch for an hour but if the packet usage or other network monitored areas are spiking up when I connect and if IT tracks it back to me....I might be in some trouble. I know they use mom, netmon, and some other tools to track heavy website hits, porn, etc. Thanks.

I use a 4gig flash drive if I wanna sign in to chat with friends while im bored at work. It boots and runs straight from the flash drive. I only seen one small cookie thing it left behind but search for it and delete it and its clean surfing. Sorry I can't help much on the bandwith issue.

Ahh it's good to be the IT guy lol.
It doesn't use much bandwidth. I doubt it would be enough to cause them to investigate. But, if one of your other slacker colleagues is pulling torrents and they happen to see your packets when they're looking for the root of his.. could be some trouble there.
And if you really want to know how much bw it's using. Get the trial version of an app called NetLimiter. It'll tell ya.

Not much....I stall/troll around town sometimes on a Laptop (not using our main T-1s, though we have 6 of em...) with a high speed wireless card...it monitors how many packets of info sent/received and both totals are less than 10MB after several hrs of SRO running.
I.T. would be more worried about the pr0n lookers than going after you
EDIT - advice: being a sys admin myself, here's my rule of thumb: If you're doing something that would make you uncomfortable when your boss is standing over your shoulder, then you probably shouldn't be doing it at work.
Side note: nice idea though, cause I hate to stall and look for ways to avoid it cutting into play time (besides leaving a stall up all night, i never sell anything when I do that.)

The bandwidth might not be much of a problem, but installing and using applications against the company's Usage Policy might be a problem.

Good enough info from all thanks. I have a laptop at home with about 4 WAPs that I can pickup from businesses nearby. I never installed the SRO client on my laptop because I didn't think wireless would have enought BW but now I will.
I login and stall only for a couple of hours and run it in the background while I do regular work. I wouldn't necessarily want my boss looking over my should but then again I have it minimized or hidden behind many other screens I am actually working on so he wouldn't see it anyway. I was a PC/Lan tech for about 4 years and I hated the network slow down at lunch time when everyone decided to go out surfing the web so I didn't want to be a contributer to that. We also only have one network guy local that probably has his hands full most of the other guys are in a National IT office.
Cool.....I don't do this everyday anyway but when storage is full it is nice to stall for a couple of hours while working versus stall all night, maybe not sell anything, and take up other people's spot that actually might want to play.
