Youre opinion about a pure str bow !!

I have a pure str bow.
Some say its good because they have good crits and range.
Other say its bad because they just suck :p
Plzz say your opinion , if it really sucks , well , than i gonna start over :p

same, i used to huv a fired capped one,
only +3 bow, got ks a lot by the mages, i dun get how others say they kill faster than mages with Anti-devil + 1 or 2 combos...
you depends too much on crit in pvp, if the person is pure str blade, 80% can't get a decent crit like on mages... but yeahh, STR fire bow isn't the best...

hybrid mage and fire glaive are the best now, rank 1
Str Fire blade and bow are okk, rank 2, can beat rank with wif better weap
INT spear/sword/bow, rank 3... they are too fragile

Bow depends on the user. I can easly kill most bow users with my nuker unless they crit a few times. however there are some bowman that are near impossible to kill. My friend is a bowman an the way he fights is by using the bows greatest advantage, distance. When you fight you must keep distance. I come to attack an when i get close you ghost walk back and start to fight again. bow is not a cqb style of fight. You will be called many names for running but all you have to say is Bow is not a close range weapon so go ** **. Just practice on your fighting skills to be a good fighter. For your weapon. Try to get a crit 10 or higher bow. Higher crit the better you will be. +3 minimun but +5 is better.

However, most of the high lvl bows in tibot refuse to PvP some of the better players on the server (after they talk trash to them!) because they "use bow". rofl

Its not a 1-1

I thief with the bowman in my guild and we found nukers an bowman work great together. Both range attacks kill the person before he gets to us.

Can you please define good? I am only lvl 46 now, however I like my bow char a lot. Yes the kill creatures mostly 1 by 1 and compared to a nuker they kill slower since nukers can kill many at same time, however if you look at survivability I see more nukers die because getting surrounded by too many mobs.

Last week I saw someone with 4 mobs (was a s/s user) on him and I was standing half a screen away. I was looking how he got killed

(That dude ks'ed me a few days ago, so I thought an eye for an eye...)
And he did got killed. I was just laughing.

Reason because people say that bow sucks at pvp is because most bow users try to tank instead of keep distance. If you want to tank get a blade or a glavie :banghead:

I can tank a lot of people around my lvl ^^

I do love it when people get pissed of when I phantom walk away and start shooting them again and they drop down dead.

Lol, I love the nuker story. I saw a spear nuker running around with 1 giants and 2 bunwangs. I was like wtf, he told me he just couldnt tank them away. ^^

I think it's a great build. It can level pretty fast, and can tank quite some monsters too. In PVP it can own too, as long as you know what skills to use.

When lvl capw as still at 70, I saw an fully farmed pure str archer own a fully farmed full str glavier in 3 hits: Anti devil Bow steel + crit, Devil arrow + crit, and finished him with 4 arrow combo.

WIth some lukc, you kill everyone as full str archer!

I love archers, they're just different from the monotonous glaivers and bladers that run rampant everywhere on the servers. Archers level decently fast, SP farm very well, and can own in PVP if an idiot isn't behind the steering wheel. The bad side is that bows cost ridiculous amounts of money even though there aren't that many bowmen! :banghead:

A decent pure str fire bow can knock out a pure int with one strong critical.

Some people consider that weak.

Over time i discovered an archer is meant to just have one set of attack skills. You need s/s or glavie aswell. It works very well and kills most nub crackers that are 7x and claiming to be the best...And to tell you the truth if somebody offered a level 80 str glavier or even an int i would refuse, rather have my 72 and own that int..
BTW you can kill an int with just relay attacks :roll:

in my opiniion what heck archer need pure str? He can't put his muscle power in a tiny arrow

(that's in real life) every single weapion can have a superb-high crit, except in boww skill it incrases by 20. if u are going tu use that skill as ur main in pvp that's great but if u need 1 crit to win and u can't do it and enemy kills u faster, then it really :banghead:

People bow is a pussy weapon, long distance and sneaky from behind. I know I am using one

The thing is that you have to be pure str for bow because you dont have any means of defence from other players (like knocking down, shield or stun) so you have to have large amount of HP to survive (and more HP and str you have larger the crit - and that is what bow is all about)..

But you can make hybrid towards int and use it "ONLY" for mobs or as suport unit for your tankers.. but you will die a lot doing jobs or on PVP. But dont go wild with nukes because you dont need nukes when you hit someone from 21 or 22 meters.. just lvl up your phantom walk

Pure str bow sucks. I have one at lvl 71 (would be higher, but I have not been able to get on much the last 2 months).

Remember what they said about hybrids sucking in the beginning? I sure do, and well, it was a crock. But I see people still buy into it lock stock and barrel. Why? because it is true.... for the glaive, and perhaps even for the blader, But not true for any other build.

A couple people on Aege (by the name of Wind and Samara), who have been on there since the beginning, and are still active, today, decided to do their own research on pure str bows and what the best bow build would be, calculating the damage. The results? the 70:70 bow build jadekiss has posted about in this forum on another thread. 8 -9 k hp is not as much as a pure str, but is plenty for most scenarios at lvl 70 (when that was the cap), add that to dishing out 11 k non-crit damage. On my pure str archer, non crit damage would average around 5k, less than half of that of the 70:70 build. Granted, IF I crit, I could dish out as much as 14k or 15k, but the chances of that are too slim to make a difference. And you are not going to crit that high against pure str bladers or glaivers. Not even with a crit 12 +5 lvl 64 bow.

Both Wind and Samara are in my union, and when partied together, I can never out-damage them against Lord Yarkon, and indeed, they now have the most Yarkan kills on Aege.

If hybrids suck so bad, why do hybrid spears and hybrib s/s do so well? Pure str glaiver is a strong build, and I know some hybrid zealots have a hard time swallowing that, but on the other hand, when people talk about the merits of a pure str character, they always point to the glaiver or blader, not the bow.

I have known a lot of pure str bowers on Aege, and almost all of them have switched to glaive or blade, if that doesn't tell you something.

Now having said that, pure str bow is not by any means a 'gimped' or 'worthless' build, just not the best, and as of late, I am convinced that you can do a better bow build. Will be converting mine to glaive, when I become more active again. Re-rolling on the bow......

Phantom walk will rarely, if ever save you, the other guy has it too, and the most you can hope for is one good hit before they close the distance and hit you, while your phantom recharges.

Look man i am hybrid bowman and for me that is the best build for bow, you just have to have good bow and some solid prooven fighting skills and tactics..
But here lot of insults towards the bow hybrid and noone is saying anything about spear or even sword hybrids... Bow is even considered for inferiour weapon i dont know why..

But the bottom line is (and prooven) that there are lots of high lvl players on all servers with good bow hybrid builds and all say that they rock..
