okay people have been saying dude im gonna pop that trade and shiz like that but i dno what popping is.
and people say they can pop lvl 1* trades.
im guessing its something like attacking a mob next to a trade with something like a lightning nuke so the splash goes and pwns the trade? thats as best as i can come up with on my own
lvl33 and you dont know what popping is? popping is when a thief who has goods spawns his npc thieves to attack the 1* traders...thus killing him and you kill the thieves then taking the loot (kinda mean imo...but thas why ima hunter)
popping 1* = having a thiefsuit with a trade and loot
you will spawn npc thiefs but npc thiefs are programmed to attack hunters then traders then thiefs/ normal players
so basically 1* popping is just letting your npc thiefs attack the trader just because they are programmed to attack them firsts instead of you.
told you before you keep whining about repeating stuff but still you do the same.
my point is then ... practice what you preach.

If you are the thief, have managed to get hold of some fallen trade items, you try to stay with the trader by running alongside him and then hopefully your pack animal will keep pace with the trader's and when the thieves spawn they jump on the trader's animal instead of your's (hopefully).
Then you hope that his animal dies quick so you can kill him and steal his stuff. Or if you are a nice guy you might not kill the trader, but usually your thieves will do this anyway, if you are a few levels higher than the trader.
It's an art and deserves to be applauded

really, they're making millions out of trading at low lvls..
for low lvl his cargo can mean a lot, for high lvl cargo of low lvl means close to nothing as for gold... and since it's more about showing everyone the mighty "I CAN PWN U, SEE?" instead of actually earning some real profit.. it's lame and clasifies the popper as a NOOb. Therefore ur statement is wrong

it is not always about the I CAN POWN you, it is more about what you find funny or enjoyable in a game, some people find it cool to pvp all day some others find it great to pop 1*
i personally find it lame to use this "bug" but sometimes it is great fun

It's a huge risk on Oasis, as I have heaps of capped botter enemies who love to Hunt me when thieving, and vise versa
Get a bull and 3-4 stars in a thief suit and you're a sitting duck.

Lol.. I miss the days when we'd run around purpling camels and slappin em to death (letting the npcs get the last hit), but nowadays we just end up murdering noob's camels XD

Well said. Besides, what's the challenge in sitting on your horse following a trader waiting for him to die? How can that be fun? I guess 1 star popping thieves are the type of people that enjoy taking candy from babies and hearing their cries? I do enjoy grinding on the popper's thieves, even if I'm in a thief suit myself. They give up after a while.
To me, it's much more fun to hit one of those large caravans and rob the 5 star that is mixed in amongst the several 1 or 2 stars -- and get away with it. Much more challenging and more rewarding.

Well you could rob multi stars for starters. You can't say they're not out there, because they are. If a thief claims there are no multi stars, that thief isn't doing his/her job right.

You're just not looking in the right places. Maybe you're better at searching than some thieves, but most thieves I've seen complain about no multi stars will just sit at the jangan crossroads or ferries waiting for a multi to come through.

I personally make sure to kill every 1* popper before I start in on my normal hunting rounds. 1* popping is a way of life, but its still kinda shitty to starting out traders.

Did you even read my post? I was implying that 80% of people that I/guildies pop are under level 24.
If there were no poppers, everyone would get rich with 1stars. Works both ways. Traders need something to be afraid of.
