Basically, u buy one of those at the beginning of a weapon class change, ie. general blade to lunar blade, in order to SP farm more efficiently. That way you can kill monsters your own lvl more easily, and lvl faster. A SOS first lvl weapon, for ex. an Iron General Blade, is equal or better to its third lvl, ex. a Gold Iron Blade. So, having and SOS weapon gives u the power of a much higher class weapon at a lower lvl... They r quite expensive though; much more worth it to buy one at the lower lvls and use it to farm then. I make do with +2, +3 blues at my level right now (32), until I can afford a better one.
Hope this helps a bit.

Even if a +5 is considered a SOS it does not have the stats like it unless you want to spend lots of money to make it equal

youll do like 20 more damage per hit with an SOS comparing it to a +5.

Sos, som, and sosun weapons have higher base stats than the normal weapon.

So far, I've gotten 2 SOS weapon drops. A bronze glavie and a general blade... I guess I've been lucky. I can only wish that I get a SoS lunar blade next XD.

Because I want to get one, and cant afford to buy it.

Every mob has chance to drop it..
But some people will tell you mobs such as Bandits/Bunwangs/Penons have high change.. It's wrong. People get many SOS from them only because everyone is grinding on them.

Uriko is right about that. usually people say to fight monsters that drop the 1st class of weapons/armor ex. fighting monsters that drop level 24, 32, 42, so on weapons. People say those monsters have a slighter chance of drops. Not sure the truth behind it tho.

If they drop an SoX item, the chance is higher for it to be a weapon since the monster is for example lvl 42 and so is the sos weap from that degree.

The other thing, more chance on any SoX on lvl 32/42/52 is bull :)

All I know is they're alot stronger than the regular normal weapons. And they're nice and shiny too =] but they're real expensive depending on what level and weapon you're using. Either way, they're nice to have :D

You certainly sound like one...a retard I mean.

Stop whining over having to buy a more expensive weapon at higher levels. Obviously this is how any game economy works where the higher lvl items are much more valuable. If you are having trouble getting enough gold that is also your problem, so deal with it.

In any case, I highly recommend buying a SoX weapon for leveling as you can just resell that weapon later on at the same or higher price. Basically, you breakeven because you don't lose any gold (that is unless you bought an expensive one). But then again you need gold to make gold so don't buy something when your funds are at their limit. A +5 weapon is nice but SoS Items are always worth the money in many cases as they come with higher stats - you could always +2-5 that sos wep to make it as good as +7-10. And I agree, I love the shine so SoX weapons are nice to have.

Due to the higher reinforces that SOS has compared to a normal weapon.
