What happened to freedom of speech on a forum?

You banned my friend for expressing his opinions and for defending himself. My honest opinion.... thats wrong. Never ban someone for defending themselves.... >. ITS GAY !!! And only gay people do it. So tell me something, are you gay?


(Please note that I have nothing against people who are gay.)

I don't think insulting the moderators is going to win you any brownie points.

Oh and I love how people always cry "freedom of speech". You only have freedom of speech if you don't infringe on the rights of others. Also, what do you think forum rules are for? If the rules say you can't use vulgar language, or you can't post racial slurs, or whatever, and you do that, you can get banned. It's a simple concept really.

I'll agree that a person shouldn't be banned simply because he defended himself, but it depends on HOW he defended himself.

I never knew about the good luck meaning of the Swastika, and I'm sure a lot of other people didn't either. I think when a good majority of people see that symbol, they perceive it as the "Hitler" version. So I agree with hellsharpt that it should be bannable.

Ryo-Ohki post is just the expression of someone on a power trip;i will give you an advice, try pay more attention to how you word your posts becouse most people will just laugh at this kind of post,thinking that it was just a bad joke, or dislike your attitude.

You might care or might not,i do even less, since i'm not the kind of person that likes to get involved in flame wars on forum it doesn't bother me one bit,take my advice or drop it is just your call

hmm, interesting point of view, but, if I know what I'm thinking of Ryo-Ohki (gotta love Tenchi!) is the main moderating source, it does most of the locks, edits and what not, it is an anonymous account, no real person behind it and is somewhat a figurative form of the forum itself within a single account that has the ability to post.

in lamens terms; what Ryo-Ohki (and Ryoko) say is final.

and actually it is quite right. you don;t have freedom of speech on a forum, you agree to the terms when registering, the owner of the forum and website has the right to restrict any form of content they please, it is their own island in the giant internet sea with hteir own laws.

hell, let's say, for instance that on SRF, the word cheese is extremely offensive and in no form at all is allwoed to be used.

by doing this, under the laws of the owner of the forum, I have just broken a contract (the terms and aggreement for registering), this gives the owner, and selected moderators the opportunity to deal with me as they seem fit.

heck they could ban someone for saying good morning in them ost polite manner if they wanted to, its their forum, Ryoko's forum.

You will understand that who is behind the account is none of my business, i'm used ,like most people on here, to have many formal and informal relationships during my day and if i learnt something from my experience is that this kind of attitude is for sure the worst way to interact with others.

As i said i just felt like sharing my point of view, i have never had any problem with any moderator on here nor i expect you or whoever is behind that account to lose sleep over it,just to think "hey he might be right!the next time i will try to act a bit different".

Uhh is insulting someone without reason(a cop no less) really considered something you should be able to do with freedom of speech, just because you can doesn't mean you should.
