Wii out sells PS3

Media Create has released figures for the week of January 22 to 28 that show the Wii sold 83,754 units, compared to 19,996 for the PS3. The week's overall top seller was the Nintendo DS Lite with 194,526, followed by the Wii, with the PSP at three with 35,700. The PlayStation 2 was outselling the PS3 last week, with 20,995 units shifted. The Xbox 360 came in sixth with 7,365 units sold.

The release of the figures has renewed rumours that the PS3 will soon be getting a price cut. Last week Sony senior vice president Takao Yuhara told the Associated Press that one of the back-to-profit options it would be considering would be a price cut, although no time frame was given

Even with a price cut it's way too much money.
Might get a PS2 instead. >> There's no way I'm gonna cough up 500 bloody euro for a console. I like videogames, but not THAT much.

BTW, are those selling results global? In that case, it's no wonder Wii outsells PS3, since it's not for sale in Europe yet. :\

I haven't tried any of the next gen consoles, but at least Nintendo doesn't pull out pranks like Sony did by delaying the PS3 for Europe.
Also, Nintendo's Wii is in my eyes really next gen, since it's something really different.

lol well those are sales in Japan, america is the same (slighty higher sales
for the 360)

PS3 will do ok when it comes out in Europe, but 500 euros/£450 is just
way to much compared to a 360 for £250 or a Wii at £179

I thought Wii was gonna be gay.

I was bashing it for months saying it was nintendos last ditch attempt.

But omg i frigging love bowling and all the other lil wii games.

I played the Ps3 tho, at my local GameStop...

OMG the graphics are just...

WOW.... O_O

I was amazed it was like playing real life lol. ok not quite there yet but definitely a noticeable step-up form the PS2!!! ^_^

Compared to the Xbox360, id say there isnt that much of a difference in the graphics, but then again i was playing tony hawks Project 8 on Xbox360, and i was playing MotorStorm on PS3, so they arent really comparable.

But anyway, the reason i would get PS3, is because i like the way the controller feels in my hands, they have this weird thing on the new SIXAXIS controller the R2 and L2 are kind of like extended out a little bit. So its kinda of less work... Meaning you can game longer

. It just took some adjusting too cuz im used to the DualShock 1 & 2. T.T

The Xbox 360 controller is weird for one reason, the Start button is placed in an odd area. ITs kind of hard to pause or whatever you may need the Start button for.

I will say the PS3 looks sexier

cuz i like black, sleek, modern looking things. Not that the xbox 360 looks like an atari or something but its just... White and Green...and..idk... i mean it does have customizable faceplates so that makes up for it. I really just dont like the stock looks of the xbox.

Wii is a great short term game. But, when will all the Wii sports/Wii mote get old? People are going to get bored playing the same style of games.
And no way xbox 360 was 6th, EVERYONE I know has one.
