It came to my attention that alot of people don't admire you or hold respect for you until you reach level 70 or 80.

Personal achievements mean nothing anymore because you are not a capped character.

So everything you achieve before hitting that cap is deemed noob and useless?

A level 40 or 50+ is considerd beeing a noob in silkroad online?

Correct me if i'm wrong here but:

Level 1-20. Noob levels.
Level 20-30. Amature class.
Level 30-40.experienced class.
Level 50-60.see above.
Level 60-70 Advanced class.
Level 70-80. Professional class.

I would really like some answers from you guys because this is the most idiotic thing i have ever heard about to date.

i split into 3

1-40 low levels "n00b"
40-60 Mid Levels "Player"
60-80 High Levels "High Level"

was different when i first started sro though as hitting 40 was good you were a high level back at 60 cap at level 40 according to most

whilst this works for everyones first character, not alot of people nowadays from 1 - 60 are on their first character.

there are plenty of 4x or 5x's out there who are more experienced then some of the capped players.

it depends on the player's experience with the game, not the level of their character.

If some capped player thinks my current goal of 52 is dumb, so be it, it doesn't matter to me, I'm not playing the game for that capped player, I'm playing it for myself. I believe it's personal milestones (sp?) that keep people going, not what others think.

ehn its more like

1-63 = noob

64-69 = a little more useful... (kinda)

70-80 = "experienced"

my reasoning for that is... anyone below 69 is generally a one shot to a 72+ and they cannot really help in pvp :P (pvp tends to be what matters most to "Capped" chars, and yes all of this is personal opinion, but flame away.. :P

Your level has nothing to do on how you enjoy the game, or how people respect you :P Look at me for example :P

Or ask Noct what level I was last time he last saw me

who do you play for? yourself, or the respect of others on your server? right now i'm lvl 73 over a month after the cap rose. that's... SLOW. but i could care less. i'm not out to impress anyone. there are few players out there i couldn't kill w/ zerk if needed, and i don't job much since i'm not at my strongest atm, so i grind, quest, help out my guildies, have HILARIOUS guild chats, and just enjoy the game the way i want to. i could care less when people ask me "what lvl are you now?" and then say "ZOMG still??" when i respond. i'll get there.

I got the same. I enjoy staying in town, trade (as in buying tablets/making stones/buying elements/destroying items for elements)
and then people ask me why I am still in my 4x :D I do what I like in the game, as should all of you.

+1 Some people are just experienced how to play a game from the begining, they research into it, see other peoples experiences, learn from them and adapt them into their own, progress thorugh the game and learn and make mistakes of their own.

People only call others noobs cause they do something they don't do or something they don't wanna try cause there stuck wit the sterio type that it's the wrong build/equipment they should be using doing, but those players are making it their way and playing it how they want to be and doing good at it. The only reason I call people noobs is cause i'm playing, lol. The only other word I call people are wastemen. I think anyone can be pro at any lvl, lvl doesn't matter to be called decent in any game. Just gotta know hot to play the game.

@Grimjaw: You've got a good point there.

It's impossible to use character levels to determine someone's level of experience in this game. You could have a L16 that is sp farming that has several other characters & knows the game well, or you could have another player that raced his/her character to 6x/7x and hasn't stopped to think about building any skills at all.

I have more fun with my guildies and my union mates, regardless of how fast i'm leveling or how much sp i have. Grind for a bit, then pop some scrolls or do some unique hunting or some jobbing. I enjoy the game, but it's experiences with others that keep me coming back (well, that and the drops, I love those treasure boxes!).

Play for your own experiences and goals...that'll make you the happiest.

So if you want to trade all day, or stall all night after making elements, or go out and grind for a couple of hours, as long as you're enjoying it, that's all that matters. 8)

Yeah. It's also impossible to determine someones experience by gear also. I know some people who have full sos gear 6/7th degree and I had to teach them how to form a party -.-!

That's good advice. :)

And basically it's the same thing i usually do,but then i job more often i think.

I just thought it was kind of a shame,to see natural respect for each other slipping away.

The funny part is:if the cap gets raised to 90,then the level 80 players are the noobs.

Lvl 70+ Pro maybe but not all of them because:
1. On my server 90% of 70+ are botters. Are they pro's? H*ll not if they don't bot they would be like lvl 20 and searching whole silkroad for a quest
2. Its not hard to make a lvl 70+ character if you use GT 24/7 365 and what char you will build? Pure Noob if I can say so.

As some of you mention you play this game for yourself not for others (Of course its cool when everyone admires and hates you when you are at high lvl). And noobs are those who dont got money dont know nothing and dont want to learn but are running around SRO with "PLS some gold" and those who sells they items for a 1kkkkkkk.

Only thing I found kept me coming back to SRO since last few weeks is my guild members and my union members. If it were not for them and fun I have making ridiculous stupid chats with them I would have left SRO for good due to lag and botters. And turn to other game like WoW or vanguard cause SRO is not free for me anymore I am hooked on silk and spending more on then you need to for subscription per month.

First, I was playing for getting CAPPED, and used to grind grind grind, and didnt care about jobing or helping others, yesterday I was grinding and an union members wanted to trade I quit grinding and helped him trade.

So yeah, I play to have fun and don't care for my LVL anymore. Just wanna finish my quest and help guildies and union.

Who cares if I get respect from unknown player, NOT ME. Its the respect that comes from helping guild and union that I care about. And thats the respect I crave about.

Beside, I could just bot my way to CAP LVL and sit in jangan for all the new player to admire me, then again noobies also thinks that zombie girl as high lvl cause she can float. If I do that I want be able to know nice ppl and make new friends.
Image
I got a SOS chest protector lvl 1 drop in less than half hour of starting a new character,
while killing mangyangs on my latest char. which I don't plan to play with.

k, but there are lvl 70+ noobs out there. It's not lvl that makes u a noob. unless we're speaking just about levels and only in terms of levels, but then again u can't say about anyone with lvl 16 that he's noob, b/c ur talking about his level not him. get it?

I would love to see a cencus on this game of players ages compared to lvl, i think that would explain a lot! Im not saying all kiddies are idiots who play SRO but its a fair punt that a lot are :D

We got some young kids in our guild and although they are cool, they kinda miss the point, talk to you like an idiot (even tho ur own lvl outstrips them by 2/3 times)

Its the same on all platforms, ive played a lot of Battlefield 2 (700 hours +) and still run a clan for it, we had a ranked server for a while back. Its shocking what you would see some players doing even when they was a higher lvl than myself (Captain 105k points).

Unfortunately noob no longer always means newbie, its just a short word thats easy to spam and is more of an insult than an accurate description of a player!
Smile :)

What does that have to do with the topic...

And as some already said it doesn't matter which level you are if you know what it is needed to know. I haven't myself never got over lvl 36 because when i come to downhang, i keep on dieing because of the lag. It is very hard to kill mobs and similar because of huge lag, so i just quit instead of bothering with the lag. And it didn't matter which build i tried. And i'm sure that i know more about this game then 70% of the "high" lvl players.

and noob comes from newb ^

anyways, the higher the lv, the older the people generally( that is for older servers ).
There are few 10-12 players higher than 50.
