re two computers playing SRO

Post by Laios777 »

hey i have like 2 computers both connected to the internet via the same router or something and for some reason when you try to sign on to one, (i think this is the reason) it won't let you sign onto the other one, it just says , failed to connect, then disconnected from server O_o

Any ideas why this is happening and how i can stop it?(if possible) and make it so I can go on one and also the other(not actually me, like just me and my bro on at the same time)

When you're behind a router, other computers only see one computer. That means that you can't have two computers connect since it only sees one.

You can try using a proxy, but it will slow you down like heck. Plus, since everything you transmit goes through the proxy, you can be "eavesdropped" on, though I think silkroad encrypts your password/username and just sends the hash.

Forget the proxy.

Can both of you use the internet at the same time?
Make sure the firewall on both pc's are not blocking SRO client.
Router firewall? Turn it off. Use the pc firewall only.
What kind of router?

i connect with two different pc's to silkroad all the time using the same router.

I dunno where this "Its seen as the same computer" thing came from. Thats what NAT is for. It is seen as the same ip, but in terms of packets, SRO doesnt know the difference. It just knows that your trying to connect. Now, if there was a check only allowing one ip at a time, then yo ushould have a problem. But there isnt, so you have a wrong setting on your pc somewhere.

Log one into sro and try browsing with the other. If there is no problem browsing the internet, then you probably have a firewall problem.

You might also be forwarding ports (for whatever reason) for SRO on both computers, which might cause a wierd conflict within the router.

On differnt accounts you can do it

Copy your silkroad folder
Paste it in a new (So it makes a copy)

All you need is a hex veiwer/editor, and open up the .exe in the copied folder.
Change the name on SilkRoad to something like SilkRoa1
Rename silkroad.exe to silkroa1.exe
And it should run fine :D

ok so all you have to do is open silkroad.exe with a hex editor and save it as silkroa1.exe or something like that...???

cause that didn't do anything for me
