About weapon alchemy

I got a LVL 16 SOM spear that I am trying to +3]
However, so far I only got it till +2, below are the sequence of my tries:
1st try:
+1
+2 (fail)

2nd try:
+1
+2
+3 (fail)

3rd try:
+1
+2
+3 (failed, I tried this after maintenance)

4th try:
+1 (failed, WTF)

5th try:
+1
+2 (failed)

Should I try for another +3?

Depends if you have anough elixirs/money.

You can always try for +3 and if it fails, get it easily back up to +2.

I already used up 7 elixirs, so is it worth it to get to +3?

EDIT: And how to add "Attack rating increase xx%" in blue words? Does it directly affect the damage of a weapon?

Are you using lucky powders if no make sure you do and attack rating does increase your attack/damage directly.

Attack rating increase is the jade tablet of strikes. It affects the damage by increasing the probability that u will roll the higher end dmg of the weapon you are using. It doesn't actually increase the dmg u do as far as I know.

You really shouldn't think about how much you've put into the weapon... those are already sunk costs. Although, that is a business major concept and most normal ppl don't take it into account. It's only worth trying for the +3 if you feel that the glow is worth it because in terms of dmg, 1 lvl doesn't make that much difference.

Havent try on +3 because of server maintenace.

Should I try for another +3?

it looks to me like that weapon just doesnt wanna + big, id say accept it will prob only ever reach +3 at max. thats my experience i would save your elixirs for something with lucky attributes etc...

some things will just not + good, i spunked 8 sheild elixirs till i learnt that fact. and the damn thing was still +1 when i finished!

sigh, too late now, used up 12 elixirs, stuck at +1 now and broke.

I will gather more gold to get it back to +2

And on a side note... a +2 SOM lvl 16 Spear can sell how much? I hope it is enuf to cover what I lost.

i think maybe that +2 SOM u have is worth 3/3.5 mil maybe?

i bought my guild mate a 24 + 4 SOS spear, paid 4.3 mil which mite have been the top end of the price scale. But he is happy!

UPDATES:
6th try:
+1
+2 (NOT GOING TO WASTE ANYMORE GOLD)

Mine also got +30% durability, 5% Attack Rating and +2 Int, so shuld sell higher is it?

I used up 13 elixirs in total, most are bought around 270K, so 3.5mil + 0.8mil (cost of the spear), is 4.3mil, I lost 0.8mil :banghead:

I guess you need to pay for every lesson that you learnt :banghead:

For those who haven't try alchemy before: Don't ever get addicted to it!

As for your SOM spear, i think u got to appreciate it is only a lvl 16 spear you have for sale and will get outgrown very rapidly in these circumstances. But then it depends if someone plans to farm on it, i would price it around 3.8 mil and then u have room to barter on the sale.

I paid big for my mates spear cos i see him using it til lvl 30, he doesnt lvl all that quick!

I do not play on Sparta, however a SoM item is worth a lot more then a SoS item. SoM weapons go for quite an amount on each server, I think on Tibot this SoM spear lvl 16 would go for 8M+

LOL, i always forget some details... the cirit on the spear is 11, and I only realized it after using it for 5 lvls! :banghead:

EDIT: NVM, scrap that, i downgraded the 11 crit to 6 crit :banghead:

The game hates me :cry:

If you really want you can milk that SOM spear for every penny you can get, but unless ur lucky to find someone crazy enough to pay and not bargain then i think it could take you a while to sell. Of course im not advising you to under sell it, i love turning a profit and making other people happy with the sale at the same time.

Now ur giving me more details perhaps bang it up in ur stall for a price you would be more then happy for it to sell for, then if ur AFK and it gets bought its all good. But people will leave offers, and thats the simple part. Maybe stall it for 4.5 mil and ask for them to buy or leave offer, ive done the same on countless occasions.

sigh, i was hoping to use the elixir money to get myself an SOS Lvl 24 spear. Guess I have no choice but to use the som spear till i can get a new spear.

13 elixirs isn't that much. I have seen several people who have used over 30 of some kind of elixer to get their item to what they want it to have (4 on a weapon for instance). Just keep the faith in alchemy, because is the satisfaction when it finally does what you want or better that counts. (atleast when you do have the funds)

I am only lvl 23, so 13 elixirs is a lot for me, lol.

Guess after i am lvl 30+, I might look back and say "luckily I learnt my lesson early".

On Oasis som lvl 16 goes for around 10mill, except for bows of course. One time I had to use 6 elixirs to +2 an sos garment with lucky >.< .

Thats nothing.

I wasted 57 shield elixirs for a stupid shield and its still +0

i managed to get 3 times to +4 but it wont go any higher

get used to it...wastingmoney +'ing item. I wasted 11million on weapon elixirs...in a single hour i spent 11mil and still only +3
