"Then there was the sound of a gunshot. How did the detectives know that this was in fact a murder?

What if the guy had a maid that just came in, rewound the tape, came back out, and called the police, but he wasn't murdered at all?

and the riddle is solved by whats in the riddle, there is no mention of a maid in there

i'd find it hard to believe that any of those would rewind the casette when theres a dead body in you presence.

Three mountain climbers paid a lot of money to be the first to scale a mountain. After several days of climbing they finally reached the pinnacle, and to their dismay, found a cabin and three frozen bodies. Since the mountain climbers were the first to ever climb
the summit, how could this be possible?

The cabin wasn't on top of the mountain, they went onto the top and the climbed back down and found the cabin.
