Blader healer - the best support character?

Post by EliteHealer »

I've never really been into the whole "I'm gonna make the best PvP character ever", but rather making a good support character. I have now decided on a build for that, and here it is.

What I want is a character with lots and lots of HP and who doesn't take a lot of damage, so he can stay alive to heal and resurrect others. For that purpose I chose a pure STR build, and I picked blade, because of the shield and the knockdown skills. I will also max out all defensive skills that increase my parry ratio, to make my character take less damage. I will also max out the skills that make the opponent's parry ratio lower, to make him or her take more damage. This, basically, is my build.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this, mainly as a support character in a guild, but also as a hunter/thief character.

Bicheon (blade)

Strike and smash: have lvl 3 or 4 of this, probably won't get it higher when I get the other attacks.

Chain sword attack: will max this out, but maybe not books 2 and 4, would like to hear your thoughts on this.

Blade force: might get the 1st lvl of this just for luring mobs, but nothing more.

Hidden blade + killing heaven blade: will max them both.

Shield protection (passive): will max it.

Fire

Fire Force: max it.

Fire Shield: will max this if I can stand farming enough SP.

Flame body: max it, of course.

Fire protection: max it, to survive those nasty nukers.

Flame devil force (passive): max it.

Lightning

Wind Walk: max it.

Concentration: max.

Heaven's Force (passive): max.

Force

All skills except the Self Heal, since the Heal series makes it pretty useless.

EDIT: I have not yet decided what skill I won't take all the way, since 4 x 80 = 320, and you only get 300 mastery levels. On the other hand, I'll start worrying about that when I get to lvl 60 or so. ;)

Healers are not so important in SRO, as they are in other games.

They are important in guild wars and very much appreciated everywhere else. How many times have you used someone's Harmony Therapy circle to rest? And how useful is a high level resurrection skill when fighting the bosses? And how about a high level healer assisting a hunter/thief/trader, while not wearing a job suit himself? He can't be attacked, so he can determine the outcome if he knows what he's doing.

I think the reason people don't build healer characters is 1) they want all-out PvP characters and 2) they haven't realised how important healers can be, when used properly.

Healing for chinese classes is useless, unless you like wasting SP.
On the other hand, healing for Euro classes is almost mandatory if you wanna lvl up without dying >w<
QUIT.

If you go healer, take cold.
Just drop the Fire, you don't need extra damage anyway.
Use Cold imbue to freeze anything with the combo's.

Also, you can use extra physical defense if you want to tank alot!

go for fire instead of cold. the buffs and the fire damage are more useful to you than ice especially against int based builds. your phy defense is already great, you only need as much mag defense and as high damage as possible that you can make.
