Let's see how good GM investigations are:
My GREECE line up is the tip of the iceburg:

Rosalyn_Lau (first 80 botter on GREECE?)
XMAT (previously hacked, now botter - WAS at nachals 1f-p)
DePe (1f-p)
Raiten (top right corner of Takla Makan - niya guards)
Chubzz (spelling not correct, top right corner of Takla Makan - niya guards)

Many in Viet4Ever
Many in EliteDiebe
Many in Chevaliers
Many in UNITY
Mortal_Kombat

Honestly, a ban doesn't really help JM because of the loss of silk bought and doesn't help the players as much as they might think because that's half of the 'enemy force' which will make the area even more vacant (good for grind but no opponents).

Honestly, just DELEVEL botters to 1 would be great and strip all of their SP and items.

morningdew says they are being investigated, because even though with the GM's own eyes may have monitored and seen the people bot, they can't just do an instant ban and say "hey you cheated buh-bye"

people pay money for this game, a lot of the botters do to, they have to go through paperwork, check back and forth and make 100% sure on every level the person undergoing the ban isn't a legit person, 99% isn't enough, because that 1% will roll out, a legit person would be banned, after investing all that money on the game, and Joymax gets hit with a lawsuit.

you people may just think they're fuckign around behind the big misspelt curtains, but theres a hell of a lot of work going on, they're more professional then you think.

They are, indeed. And that's why I get pissed by all the whining threads about Joy"less" being farked up and not making the game better.

IT'S HARD! IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE GAME, GO AND MAKE ONE YOURSELF!

When they ban a Duck or a Bear, THEN I will buy their fairy tale investigations. Till then, it feels like a stiff breeze up the back of my tasset.

As long as they don't bot all the time, I don't care. The problem with botting is, that the bandwitch is getting totally pawned by bots, so no-one can enter.

is it so hard to believe that some peopl actually respect Joymax and what they're doing, what they've created? i agree with Dem 100%. i stand by JM and support them in what i know to be a MONSTROUS task. my chosen field is the gaming industry, so i've done a TON of research on it, and i think most people - like you, obviously - fail to understand the ENORMOUS scope of a game as big and detailed as SRO. so before you a) bash on JM for not catering to your every whim or b) flame other forum members because they hold beliefs that differ from yours, do a bit of homework. go to Amazon.com and search for "game design" and see what you can come up with. buy one cheap, used, whatever, and see for yourself what it takes to design and maintain a game with over 10 servers each of which can support thousands of characters simultaneously in a fully-rendered 3D world, as well as track their status, assets, associations, friends, hell even an in-game email system.

then come back and call it kaka.

For once I fully agree with you. All be it the bear's of Olympus.
I mean it's not hard to look into their so called ' logs ' and check their ' suspicious activity ' and do whatever they have to do to ban them.

Actually I wouldn't even need a ban, just for the guys to be completely screwed over by a gm.

I agree with you %100. The dev team should be commended for their excellent work. I applaud them.

But they arent doing the whole job and if I am spending my hard earned cash on something and I have a question, it should be answered. MiniFly spent HIS hard earned cash, he has questions, they should be answered. 4 members of my guild spent cash, they are hacked now, they have questions that deserve answers. Half of Greece spent cash and are now hacked, they have questions that should be answered. I am not bashing them for the game itself. I am bashing them for answers like this. "Why did miniFly get banned? Oh he knows what he did." WTF kinda answer is that? JM is doing their customers a disservice. If there were a better business bureau for video games, JM would have a record a million miles long. They appear to have a complete lack of regard for their customers. I am paying them money with the assumption of security and at least SOME adhearance to their own policies.

Joymax create a game which has some fabulous features bla bla bla - no arguement.

Joymax pumped out server after server knowing full well that they would never be servicing the existing servers appropriately, and continued to pump out server after server for the simple reason of profit.

They know (because they've done their research too) that people will continue to buy the "free game" deception, despite the huge numbers of people who leave because of poor customer service, poor security measures and poor policing activities and therefore see that by creating more and more servers they can continue to profit from their own purposeful lack of appropriate actions.

The market is primarily a youth market and is enormous, and as technology becomes more accessible to even more "Third World" areas, a "free" game like this will continue to attract increasing numbers.

It is obvious that Joymax has no real intention to provide proper customer service.

Instead, they create the Morningdew persona, which attempts to work furiously in the creation of the impression of action, by being as visible to as many players as possible,; to create as much discussion as possible, knowing full well that many people will "buy" that Joymax are finally doing something.

As NB says, I'll believe it when I see it.

Having the Morningdew persona post a thread like "I'm so overworked, and we can't find anyone else to help" kaka, they certainly attempt to persuade less savvy people that they are on the job.

I love the game, but I am disgusted with the greediness of the Management of this company.

i hate to be so sceptical and critical.... but i d like to point you guys on 1 simple (yet imo critical) point on morningdew's post:

ok, he is going to investigate it, good, what most off us legits have been waiting for, YET what he doesnt say is that he is going to take action...

to me he/she/joymax/whoever is covering their ass again. i can already see the scenario in front of me:
- *as usualy* ban 1% of the unlucky botters, you said you've taken action, thinking you are once again the hero in the eyes of the crowd.
- *my favorite* investigate the problem, realise there are some -couch- botters, sit back and relax, no problem right?! if players begin to whine about it, say 1) you are still investigating OR 2) say you havent said anything about taking action and that the botters will get banned on the usual lists *oh i love this one*

so realistic, and -sadly- so true

It's hard for a company to keep up with a game like this, alot of people play it, it's a huge game. In the management of FL the gm's saw a problem, it had to be sent to the company Lager to help fix the situation, they couldn't deal with it themself's they din't have the right/power to do so. However joymax creates this game they should have the ability to ban botters, they used a system to ban mass botters why are they having problems banning these ones now?

Of course, I can't negate the fact there probably understaffed and even then it takes alot of work/paper work and investigatting to deal with something like this, especialy when theres so many different servers acting out like their own type of game. It's hard to keep track of so many botters etc. I can't negate the fact that I wish joymax would do more about greece and their botters/hackers but there doing the best they can at the moment, they don't have the staff to deal with the game being as big as it is, and it will take time, they gotta take one step at a time and we just have to be patient. I know i'd like to see vast improvements in the bots around the game but untill they get more staff this is what they can do to their ability and i have to accept that.

lol chubbz botting to, should of thought jimbo would of the whole clan bots, it's just to funny...

speaking as a programmer / Admin. i can say this. all one needs to do is log the grinding time per day someone is doing. im sorry if someone grinds 10 hours a day every day. something just might be wrong. joymax controls the servers, they have the most important factor. DATA they have logs of what ever player does. thats a very very very powerful ability. for some reason they dont want to use it. its very easy to take log data, dump it into a database and create an analyzer for it.

at this point you just have your analyzer look for things like grinding time, or go get a botting app and get the cordinates it uses for movement. through a real time position monitor that records only those cordinates to the database. then run it through to look for players that match all the cordinates.

and thats JUST the detector part. someone still gets to check if they are botting by looking at the data.

:banghead:
Joymax outsmarted you on the detector part that is what we should do and they check if it is right or not.

your idea just creates even more work and that takes a lot of time they don`t even have enough time to check bots on daily (probably not even weekly) basis, don't think they got the time to search the data's and later check if they are real players or not, those check points might accidentally be triggered by real players and some do actually play 10hours a day or share an account (both are crazy things but playing long is not a reason to be banned for)

paths can be changed to be even more precise you can set up your own path the only thing all bots need to do is add that function.

I rather see Joymax set up a database server for short movies/screenshots. before banning they then only need to check if both chars are not faked (different server same name problem)

Or abuse the packetsystem of bots and create their own anti-bot system.

AMON-Ra wrote:If they wanted to fix it they could zonas, that much is clear.

oh dude .... please

don`t you think Joymax would get a lot more customers if there were no goldbots and levelling bots?
almost every serious sro players should buy silk that is the purpose of silk.

sure, thats possiblw, coding it will be a little tricky, implementing it a nightmare, fixing all the bugs it causes a pain in the ass, after that huzzah!

you just got a shitload of bullshit data being sent to a tiny GM team 24/7/365

lets say theres 20,000 players per server, we know theres way mroe then that in each.

10 servers,

10 x 20,000 = 200,000 individual streams of data, differing from 5 minutes play "ah i logged in! but its tyoo laggy, i'll try later" to a 24/7 botter. constantly moving, constantly recording packets from each individual player.

no you cant just cut off a zone "anyone who plays over 12 horus is a bot"

thats bullshit, i owed SuicideGrl 14 mil on the event where we got special id cards and black devil suits, i grinded 18 hours straight and earnt that money back. 18 freakin hours.

each character has to be detected individually like i said before, 20,000 individual investigations per server, each investigqation can take an entire day, thats 20,000 days.

a gm staff of what? 5 people? thats just under 11 years constant work for those 5 people. for just one server

your idea is nice, but seriously flawed

No one KNOWS to any certainty what JM is doing but you can assume all you want and commend JM for working so very hard. But we the people don't see it and say it like it is, JM is doing nothing.

But now that the "staff" has spoken, JM is binded. As usual, we have nothing we can do but WAIT some more and see how it turns out.

Draw the line for JM once and for all:

Is one level 80 bot ban on one server good enough? Is the simple fact that the GMs are not rotting in their offices from being overworked going to satisfy all the JM supporters? Will JM even meet our expectations that are the same months and months before? Do I dare say they will exceed our expectations?
