lol what a funny post. True there are two types of people that play this game. One type has a life and use the game for enjoyment and the other play this game because it IS there life. I have a very busy Real life with college, a wife, car payments, job and I still have time to play sro. I admit there is someone in game that I am very close to, and we have built a relationship for about 10 months now, but there is a large percentage that just wanna live in SRO. It's quite sad really. Anyone on athens no doubt have seen globals from Draz about the drama in the guild

OK, I gotta say something. Having Fly around makes the game 500Xs more fun. IRL, Id flirt with some cute young guy, why not flirt with some cute young guy in a game? Due to the artificial environment, you dont have all those RL issues in the way, bad hair day, zit, was in a hurry and threw on sweats, etc. I dont even mind that much when other ppl hit on me. If it gets too weird, I just stop talking. Big deal. Ive batted my eyelashes at Ryoko more than once, he's hella fun to flirt with. Why is it so BAD HORRIBLE DISGUSTING? THe opposite sex dynamic is fun in any medium.

the small percentage that do spam female characters with bullsh*t /hitting on them etc make it extermely hard on geunine players (be it male or female) wanting merely to be friend with other players online.

ok so a male with a male character tends to be more talk-a-tive to a female character (50% its another male) ,but the small amount of time it is a female w/ a female character...

Its generally more fun and entertaining to hang around with and have laugh with them, but also more of a challenge being that most will dismiss your attempt at merely talking with them as a slight/slow way of hitting on them. (serious get over yourselves it's a game ffs! we know you don't look like the sro game model!)

But its especially more entertaining watching/listening to other guys trying there best on them to quote someone i ran into again the other day:
"Hehe your so small" -Guy
"Yes, am just a small insignificant woman sigh" -Girl

i dunno why i just found that so funny, she was accommodating and yet with sly humour.... but can't you just ignore them?

I see so many guys in SRO who when they find out someone is really female they go nuts and change completely how they speak to them, usually hitting on them. In halo 2 when a girl is playing i remember guys apologizing when they killed them. In star wars jedi academy the guys would follow behind the girl around the map like she was gonna use her force powers to raise his little lightsaber. I love playing with girls in games because they just have a huge difference in personality and how they play so its much more fun. Sure you flirt with them or whatever when you are friends maybe, but people like harass them and thats just annoying. why would they want to play a game and get harassed constantly. Let them enjoy playing the game.

Agreed. Iv had rl gf's while playing, yet I still mess around with people of the other sex. Its not because I am desperate, but rather, just want to have fun. When I log into sro I am not who i am in rl, but rather "MastaChiefX"

3. They Were Bored.......

But i dont want to get gifts,i can do the game alone.....
I know that some guys arent spoil and give things for that kind of things,but there is no need to do that...If they want to be friends they can ask,i almost say yes to everybody...But most (Not All) of ppl give you something,not telling you a thing and after they w8 to you start replaying.....I made alot of friends like that

3) I have a lot of in game friends - male and female - and of course I like hanging out with the guys in game - they are fun, good humoured, can carry on intelligent conversations and enjoy playing the game just like I do. It's a great place to meet people from all over which is one of the most ejoyable parts of the game for me.
4) I know I have the right to talk to or ignore any one I chose too
5) This is not a battle of the sexes nor an invite for sexist remarks about females playing sro.

The point of the thread - is that I am tired of being stalked in game by "kids" (compared to my age) who just won't take "NO" for an answer...over and over again. I get traced, PM'd and IN game messages because I ignore them. I am not a tease - I am soooo above that! There is no reciprication on my part in response to their constant badgering - which, btw, normally starts with in 2 minutes of "hello".

I love meeting new people in the game and have made a lot of good "on-line" buddies. I will say hi to anyone who talkes to me - but when it gets creepy...they just need to take "stfu" with a grain of salt and move on to the next victim.

BTW - thanks to all of you who have had replied with similar experiences and thanks to those of you who understand - much appreciation :)

I made a lot of friends ingame but most of them are females.

I get drawn to them more easily because in general they are more reserved and calm about most things.

They also manage to scout you're feelings better then males.

And when you ask them a question they tend to just answer it normally.

I have always prefered female company...makes me feel more at ease somehow.

But then again IF something goes wrong and they hurt you,or betray you or attack you..yeah that's a critical of 900,000K right in the safe zone...then they apologise for nuking you...yeah thanks i guess,but i'm not talking to you again...

Happend only once when i was in my noob levels though,after that it never happend again. :roll:

So yeah i can agree with the topic starter.

About personal life experiences,i can say the same except the nuking part was a slap to my cheek during highschool...hurted like HELL!
