Pure Int - Armor or Garm

I have read most of the builds and am currently farming in garments. I'm still trying to decide what I should set as my regular armor for 30+....

Everyone seems to say armor.... However, why? lol

I have 2 concerns:

First I can understand that as a pure int i have less hps and to conserve them is better, but there are so many nukers if i am wearing armor and have less hps doesn't that open me up to get nuked myself?

Second, The only thing i can see it helping with is surviving an attack from physical damage, which as a nuker i'm trying to avoid anyway. Not to mention the mobility and mana saving cost, i have lots of mana yes, but more mana = more nukes which is all i'm good for...

Can someone tell me if the first point is a real concern... or if there is a particular level (perhaps 5x or 6x) when I should definitely switch from garms to armor. I don't want to open a whole debate, I prefer garms, but would switch to armor as long as i'm not opening myself up to nukes cause of the less magic defense...

most people say armor because since full int already have a good mag defense then u need to balance it with a good phy defense. Some people wear garm to have the ultimate mag/ nuker defense, but when u are fighting blader or glavie with garm, u will lose. So thtas why they say to go armor. But when fighting other nukers, u will have an advantage if they are wearing armor. Just use armor for PvM u will die alot less.

~ garment all the way till lvl 80 well thats what i would say cose u save on mp pots cose u need tones of them cose of the nukes and faster training ( moving speed 20% increase )

I'm currently lvl 34 with a pure int character. I'm trying protector for now to see how it works. I die once in awhile if I'm fighting a black robber giant and I get mobbed before he dies. If I have berzerk loaded he usually dies before that happens.

I would say choose what u want and add str and HP increase into your items so u get more HP.
