just play and have fun for your first char...and farm later....
farming for a first char is not fun at all, and you dont really know where you are going...(buildwise etc.)

right now i have an idea of what skills to max out and what to leave at certine lvls. I have been reading up on guides and played games similar to this. I would be happier getting a great character with high sp then one with low sp

You are not late to SP farm, you havent even started the game yet.

Your char is lvl 8 and you have 2 lvl gap, that means, your mastery trees are at lvl 6 right now. Just get them at lvl 7 and stop there. Then lvl up your character at lvl 16 and you will have a lvl 9 gap which is the best when it comes to farming, then you can find a good sos bow and go farm at archers. Then when you lvl up at 17, de-lvl back to 16, kill yourself so you can maintain the 9 lvl gap.

what do you mean by maintain the lvl 9 gap. when i get to lvl 17 can i just put 1 point in mastery tree, woudn't i still have that lvl 9 gap? And about the SoS Bow, What if my skill tree mastery is in blades, should i still get it or just get a good sword?

You can lvl up your mastery to maintain that lvl 9 gap and be lvl 17. but then that means you wont be getting good SP from archers and you have to move to a different mob that doesnt have decent spawn rates and spawn in huge area. making your farming miserable. Also as you lvl up you will be getting less and less EXP points, and it will take you ages to be at a decent lvl where you can enjoy the game.

thats why you can either farm all at once and be done with the suffering or farm at intervals, 16,24,32 etc etc, farm enough sp for your next 9 lvl gaps or something. The benefits of farming all at once is that then you dont have to worry about SP anymore and lvl up with 0 gap! making your lvling fast as hell.

You can farm at 16 and use bow, even tho your char is going to be a blader, when you are done farming you can de-lvl the bow skills and get blade and whatever else you want. it is better to do this at low lvl, at 16 because de-lvling your mastery skills requires gold and at low lvls you wont have to pay much for 7lvls.

you get that quest at lvl 20 ...
so do this .. stop lvling your mastery after lvl 7
lvl up to lvl 20 (and add the points to your str or int) do the quest, lvl your bow mastery skill down with the potions you get from the quest, then take a few hours to de-level to level 16 and start farming :)

right now you dont need to de-lvl your bow skills, you can de-lvl them after your done farming by doing the curst heart quest.

Right now you can have bow mastery at 7. get 2 arrow combo lvl 1 and anti-devil lvl 2. thats all you need. plus fire as your imbune and stat farming.

Ok

In conclusion I should have at lvl 16 is
blade mastery 7
bow mastery 7
arrow combo lvl 1, 2
anti-devil lvl 2

after i sp farm to lvl 17, i should kill my self untill i loose engho exp to get back to lvl 16 at 0%, then sp farm again, and repeat the steps. After I am done sp farming should maintain a lvl 9 gap?
And Btw How much would a SoS bow lvl 16 cost in the red sea server

no, after you are done farming keep a 0 lvl gap. the whole point of sp farming early is to get enough sp for your character so you don't have to worry about it later, and then after that you can lvl really fast.

as for the sos bow, i don't know about red sea but i see people selling them for a few million.

a year ago I was like that too.. new to the game, read tons of guides, thought I'd ever need only one character... then u r str, so u want to int, and vice versa,.. u got bow but u fancy sword, u love that block but u wanna try the power of spear.. and u'll end up as glavier...

so yea guess what.. a year later Im here ready to start my 10th character with a build I desire.

Now I don't need guides, or another people to tell me what to skill and what not, what to max what to leave half way.. I can figure it out myself..

My advise for you is... play a lot, try different types, don't care about ur build now.. do int, do str, try all weapons, see their limits, learn the limits of the game, farm a lot, level up fast.. and after then u will feel the game. You won't need guides anymore, then start a new char. and enjoy :)

No no no no, at lvl 17 you shouldnt close the gap. Only de-lvl your character to 16 at 1% and then go farm again.

You should close the gap only after your TOTALLY done farming for GOOD! example. you should close the gap only after you have farmed about 100k SP. in order to calculate how much SP you need go to this site and then farm until you get that SP and then close your gap!

Do not close your gap at lvl 17! only de-lvl your character.

Also dont listen to what Live is4ever is saying, making chars here and there takes a lot of effort, time, and money. Its good that you ask all this questions now, or later you would be like him having no idea what to do and only understanding the game by your 10th char which only means that your time and effort all this time was a waste. You dont need to experiment, every build in this game has a standard.

Site to calculate SP. Keep in mind that you can only go up to 300mastery points.

http://bobtheveg.dyndns.org/SRO/Char_Build_Applet/

This is what i have farmed for about a month now that i started farming. Also keep in mind that farming is a process that takes time but at the end its worth the effort. most builds need sp starting at about 150k to 200k give or take some change lol.

If you chose not to listen to me, mondai nai :) - I'm here only to help.
Go ahead with farming then and calculate how many sp u need, spend a month, two or 3 farming and then level up.. and once u get to high lvl feel how you're getting owned by everyone.. because only thing u know is how much sp u need... u won't know the game. You won't get owned only by players, but by the game itself. And after u get killed in 9 out of 10 cases, blame yourself for not putting the EFFORT AND TIME to learn about this game, about its limits. It's not the game that limits u... it's u limiting urself.

other than that, hope u have fun. loL

But it's just the price you pay

..doesn't mean a thing anyway.

Im not understanding your question exactly. but you can have fire at mastery lvl 7 and have fire imbune skill at lvl 2. "River fire force lvl 2" thats all you can get at lvl 7mastery and thats all you need.

And again i will repeat myself and say do not listen to what Love4ever is saying. he doesnt know what he is talking about. You dont have to experiment, its not a game where there are unknown things that you have to figure out.

Everything has been tested and proven, every build has been tested and proven. If you want to be pure str, read a guide about that, if you want to go pure int read a guide about that, all you have to do is read some guides about builds and what is the diffence between them.they will tell you what weapon to use, what skills to use etc etc. And also something else that you need to keep in mind. while farming you will spend a lot of time at low lvls and you wont be using any skill points or masteries, and you will have a lot of time to think about exactly what you want your character to be. just read some guides or post in this forum.

All you have to do is do it once and do it right. this game is old and it has limits, everything is standarized. Everything in this game is balanced as much as it can possibly be. the only thing that makes the difference is your equipments, thats why people pay so much for sos items, because those are the equipments that make the difference.

First of all you have to decide what build your going to go for. read the guides. Then what skills you want to get. That link above that i gave you is a good way to test your character by getting glavie skills, blader skills, i wouldnt suggest bow skills. and the different forces.

just farm with a lvl 16 bow, gather all you drops and just sell them. you will get the gold to afford a better bow and then a better bow and so on, and maybe you will be lucky and get an sos drop that closts millions and you will get the gold. just be patient.

my farming buddy will be a pure blader and he is going for about 170-200k not sure exactly. bladers lvl up really slow because they dont deal a lot of damage but they have the best defence around. so thats another reason why you should do all your farming at lvl 16.

well now i decided that i will farm in invtervals of 16,24,32, and 41 at 50k sp each.
reason why i am doing this because i would know i would not enjoy the game and give up and quit.
Would this effect me at all if i did not farm all at lvl 16

im also for this tactic. farm a bit in 16 then go with a gap u choose, then again when u get new weapon ect.

i know people who farmed 110k of sp and then quit. its silly. mostly enjoy the game and sometimes suffer, but not too much so you wont think someday how stupid you were giving so much time to farming and loosing all your nerves cos of those stupid farmers at stronghold (haha no offence :D )

I WAS HERE FIRST, PLEASE LEAVE THIS SPOT I GRIND HERE!!11111

Don't listen to CodeOfSilence, he's utterly confused. Loveis4ever is correct. Try playing the game first. I mean after all, there's probably no way you will be able to afford an sos bow or any sos weapon at level 16 with your first character. Then, leveling will be slow with a regular weapon. Doing the 50k Intevals is actually a pretty good idea. Try to get some good weapons, but don't bother with getting bow / bow skills if you're going to do it like that. Just stick with blade + bicheon.

P.S. At level 8 and 2 level gap, it's NOT too late to farm. Actually, you'll get a lot more SP per kill at lvl 9 with 0 masteries than you do at level 16 with lvl7 masteries.

im not confused at all, im just letting the dude know the benefits and disadvantages of farming all at once and at intervals. i have 2 characters and 1 is lvl 42 and has run out of SP. because i didnt know the game. the time it will take to farm all the sp at intervals its the same basically as farming it all at once, its just personal preference on how to do it.
