Crash (not the ??????? thing)

Post by Jupiler-man »

hi guy's
since a couple of day's (i think since the last server update) silkroad crashes every 10 - 15 minutes. it just got stuck and the only thing i can do is reset my system. i can't move my mouse, ctrl+alt+del don't work, the windows button doesn't work. the only button that works is reset.
i've played the game for 2 to 3 weeks and everthing was going fine. but then the problem started. it's getting pretty annoying :banghead: .

this is my system:
--> amd xp 2000+
--> 512mb ram
--> msi geforce ti 4800 se 128mb
--> soundbaster audigy
--> ...

these are the things i've allready did to solve the problem:
--> update drivers: video, via chipset,....
--> uninstall and reinstall the game
--> creating new char
--> and yesterday i even formated my pc (not that i like doing it, but i was desperate :) )

i realy don't know what to do anymore. so i hope that anyone can help me with my problem. please!!!!

thx and greeting from a very fustrated belgian :banghead: :banghead: :)

A lot of people(me for one :banghead: ) have been having problems ever since this morning's update. Hopefully it's just little bugs that they let slip and will be fixed soon

Ok so i'm not the only one. you also think that the problems are caused by an update?? i thought it was just a theorie of mine. so the best thing that we can do is wait a few days and see if they can fix it. i'm glad that its not my system. thx for the reply's so far :)

i'm here again with the same problem. during the time of the easterday event i had no problems. but since de patch has been removed the problem started again.
the game freezes every 10-15 minutes and the only thing i can do is reset my system. but now i also get the ??????? error.
the things i did to try and solve the problem (the same as the last time):

--> removing and reinstalling the game
--> updating my drivers
--> lowering the graphic settings
--> turning sounds off

and for the ?????? error i followed the steps in this posts:

http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=4541

http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1081

and none of the 2 methods worked for for me.

does anyone has an idea what i can do with these problems??? because its getting pretty annoying. my char is lvl 28 now and with every crash i die and lose about 20.000 xp.

please help me solve the problems

The crashing every 10-15 minutes and the computer hard-locking (only reset works) tend to indicate some kind of overheating (more specifically with the graphics card since it only happens with the game). Is the card cooled adequately and is the fan on the card still spinning?

Jupiler-man, you probably have a memory leak. The solution for this problem might be to download the VIA test driver.

Do that here (I uploaded the driver, it can be rather problematic to find):

I have also updated the "big technical thread" with information regarding this.
