You do realize that there are several different GM's handling duties? Of course my husband always loves the live duties...a spotlight glory hound.

I tease him about narcissistic tendencies.

Lol.. we all loved your husband's one liners... the only thing I don't understand about GMs is why do some servers get more attention then others.. IE Xian...

I don't think that I've ever seen a gm global randomly and talk or say hi to us all.. and welcome us to come see him.. The only time we ever see a GM speak is when it's inspection time :( Our server is gonna be re-titled "the forgotten".. lol

@ViolentFemme

Who made many comments about the users, their complaining / speculation, and other issues.

Its not their fault.

And to criticize these users? Not many times, if hardly any - would any GM come forward and be part of the community. never to respond to the community, or give us any sign or assurance anything was being done at all.

Everything is a huge hush-hush secret.

The GM's didn't make any statements, talk on the server, or give indication about anything being done for months and months on end. The dark-ages of SRO where we were all left in the dark on important issues.

Ignored about the bots. Ignored about the astrals. Ignored about global chat moderation.

NOTE, Im not saying its GM fault or an individuals fault. Its Joymax's policies and management on the whole.

But the GM's are the only people we hear from and our only way to communicate.

Yes, any time a GM speaks on a sever, you see 'FK YO MOMMA GM'. But thats not us, and not here.

Know why they do that? Because they know they will get away with it. Have you seen global chat lately? Its nothing but trash talk line after line.

The community went sour when they turned their backs and nothing was done.

Not even acknowledge that we were heard.

"We hear you" would have been better than being ignored.

Playground bullying? This community hates bots. In black and white. Spirit doesn't even have to post here. Yet even now, after trying to clean that out, I see new accounts saying '**** shit grrrrrrr **** shit grrrr'

I let that slide because:
A) I hate bots
B) I don't play SRO.

Its not a 'bad' community with 'bad' people.

Its a community thats tired, fed up, desperate and angry on the whole.

And I don't blame them. I quit too. I got tired of waiting and hoping for things to get better. Before you lash out and crack on the community for their attitudes, you need to be in their shoes.

Logging back into SRO would mean stepping outside the Don gates, getting smacked down by a bot in full sos with sos+9 weapon, and being made fun of by 'it' after. Then having all his cronies come and swear up and down he doesn't. Whateva.

I loved this game. More than you might know. I built this whollllllllllllllllle place dedicated to this game.

I never sold out to the 4-5 gold farming companies all offering me well over 100$ each a month for just a link.

But I just can't wait for things to get better anymore.

On the subject of mr husband crayon:

After posting on TH, Crayon was my favorite. Did you know, I tried so hard to get a short, simple questionare with Mr Crayon. :(

But no. I think about a dozen emails to Joymax co LTD and SRO official site were ignored. I even tried Bakemaster. He was ignored too. At that point, I assumed they just don't care about the community, and gave up. I was soooo green with envy when SG got a visit. But SG deserved it more than I did. Well anyway, since I never got the chance to say it in ... game, please thank him for his support in my time of need.

PS - He is a lot nicer too.

hmm good post Ryoko

regarding crayon, this sounds disrespectful or w/e but imo he didn't do a good job at all..

"But he gave a damn and so does the team..."

sure....
i see improvement now, but the entire time before takla was released 'the team' did very little

"When you all talked about how damn easy it is to this or that...and where he knew the truth of how it wasn;t..it would just make him laugh insanely one day and depress the hell out him the next. "

i'll just start with this... there's still botters from beginning beta which are still botting right now (that's over a year). I can only BE 'shortsighted' and 'stupid' since there hasn't been any progress on many many things and he showed up rarely.

For me it makes no more difference if GM's read here or in other forums.

In my christmas-holidays I played a lot of SRO and I am one of the stupid players, who likes to grind and farm.
I stop it, if friends/union need help.

6th of january my laggs started and also the "new" Takla Makan....
While grinding at Snipers and Hunters I had every day 4-8 bot-users around me.
We made a "Takla-safari" with a small group of people counting the bots only in the area with hunters and snipers... we found 83 botter only in that area.

13th january more laggs still bots - again I can't grind or play my ticket time (what a waste of money!!!)
I stopped playing SRO
I am not sure if it is a break... I call it a break at the moment

I was a natural born grinder on Venice, level 75 with 65%, 20K sp left, full farmed, killed Yarkan some times and I think most people know me as a helping person who likes to sit in the flowers in Hotan when I was afk for cooking or whatever.

I still like the game and I feel sorry for Joymax and GM's, but those who don't like the game, don't like grinding/farming ruin the game, cause they use bots to be "best", "strongest" - and now they are all "SoSun-farming" (with bots of course) to become "strongest, best and most shiny one" to stand in front of DW to call all others "noob".

I'm afraid that I too must agree with what Ryoko wrote. I've been a GM on previous games (back in the days when they were still tekst adventures, AKA MUDs), and I've experienced the kind of things people say, but I've found that the key thing is communication. Sure, there will allways be some bad apples, but the majority of players is willing to put up with a lot of problems as long as you communicate. You have to let them know what's going on, how you're dealing with problems, and what the priorities are of handling them.

Yes, there are plenty of rude people on SRO these days, but most of those people will not be found here. The complaints you see here are mostly about being ignored about problems that have been present for a long time, without any communication from JM about these issues. It is true that since the GMs are about the only contact possibility we users have, they will face the brunt of the complaints as well.

Don't get me wrong: like Ryoko I loved this game (I still do for the most part). I spent about 80% of my spare time on this game, and I've defended JM actions on many occasions. Currently I can hardly bring myself to coming online anymore. Recently a growing number of people have been hacked who have obviously followed all the rules and guidelines set by JM. I can imagine JM not having time to fix the issues right away, but the least they could do is help out their loyal customers, or perhaps even acknowledge their existence by sending them a small email back. I know they have no legal obligation to help, but I can't think of a single reason for them NOT to help. Why would they, especially after their recent experiences, favor a hacker over a (paying) customer, and let a hacker keep the stolen account?

I also recognize what Ryoko wrote about global chats. It's like one huge flame fest there lately, with lots of racism thrown in on the side. If JM is too busy to deal with it (which I could understand), the least they could do is let us know what we can do to help them. Show us some sign that something will be done, and let us know what you're working on. Anything we can do to help will be gladly picked up by this community, I'm sure.
