try all u got at once
items which fails at + 3 usually works with 12 elixirs if u worked them on a row .. + try +ing after using them for a bit if they are + 3 and wanna go for + 4
The method that seems to work best for me is to try to buy 2 or more of the item and try to see if one of em is lucky enough to +4. I did it recently w/ 2 lvl 64 blades and i managed to +4 one of them on the first try. The other one i didnt have that much good luck on.
Items have their own luck value, so if an item doesn't seem to be getting to say +2 or +3, there is basically no way you will reach +4. Sure with enough elxirs you will get there eventually but it'll be very expensive.

Its all luck kid... I have a 72 +5 spear now, it got there in one try. My 72 +3 sword on the other hand took 85 elixers and wouldn't go +4 at all, its still sitting at +3 as you can see. The secret: just be rich and be ready to use a lot of elixers.
Since I began doing this way I've had a 64+7 sword, no fails on the way.
And my current sword is 64+4, waiting for payday to astral it's sweet azz.
As Ryoko said in his thread on this subject, if it fails a couple of times on it's way to +4, get rid of the weapon and try another because that weapon is probabl unlucky.

i think every non-blue item has greater chances of +'ing.. my friend used to + lv 64 stuff all the time.. he'd go to +5 and sometimes +6 without astral.. the key is.. money and time.. oh and I've personally learned, if an item goes to +3 easily, it'll likely go to +4 easily as well.. if you have trouble even +2'ing something.. don't waste your time trying to +5... i had an sos 52+5.. and i made it from scratch.. it had 1 blue (immortal) and okay stats.. it did take me like 5m or so to +5 it... so it wasnt like it was easy.. it was the hardest thing to +. that i've ever done.. i also found a trick with resetting your luck on +'ing things.. if you fail a jade stone, you have greater chances of the next jade stone or elixir working.. thats my personal belief and that's how i've +5'd 3 things.. I +5'd 2 other things without fail, and I knew they'd work cuz they went to +3 right away, so I waited an hour and went +4

Tried to +4 my SOS blade from +3...and it failed(who woulda thunk?????). But I just wanted to let you know that I followed this technique word for word, and it's now back at +3. from 1-3 I had no fails...but I think I'll wait for elixers to go down before I try +4...or at least till I'm not using it anymore. Good method.
