What would you do Guild leaders?

Post by Partyataztec »

Lets talk about being a guild leader. Tell ya story and experiance as one and express your satisfaction or dis' or incidents that makes you in grief or sorrow, or what the hell happen...

My guild is new and just upgraded into lvl2 (and so damn hard) to uplevel to level 2. when im in Rome, i join others guild and i didnt get the fun to lead a guild.

So having my first guild is wow.. 500k is easy. 3 mill is (hmm....) i dont know that. how bout next?

My guild mambers cant online at the same time. Some of em only online at certain time. My friends (3) of em, stop playing and leaving me alone playing. So i met new friends, from india, to vanuatu, to the US, till sweden.

All of them are noobs, makes me laugh everytime they online. and i only invite players that is searching for guild. I set the guild fees to be 10k a month, some disagree, some agree. If ya didnt set the guild fees, players will not appreciate the guild that has been established. well, you will need their support to uplevel the guild however. And that will keep the mambers to stay in the guild. SO as guild leaders, YOu yourself have to be active.

One of my guild mambers actually support the guild thoroughly. He spend thousands of money as long as he can contribute and support the guild. well, we are very close in game.chatting and lol all the time. So after a while being a guild leader, i find out that, evertime i play silkroad, i will lenghten my life span (coz i laugh all the time) ( 8) im emo at first, turn into geeks for this reason)

so i find social in silkroad. i even organized competitions and guild events so the bond will be tighten.

as a guild leader, i find that silkroad is getting more....interesting.

If you're a guild leader, or not, post your story here..share them :)

Nooo........

i only put cheap stuff like scrolls, monster scroll, stuff that is not so important but useful.

btw, when people open the guild storage and saw many good stuff, anyone, any person, any players, will clean it up. even me :P

when im in a guild in rome and xian, i got permission to store stuff. since all those stuff is cheap and omg, i dont need em. i leave em btw. Smart moves what they call...(accept the Sosun lvl 52 spear) tempting

Beeing a guild master seems like a lot of ungratefull work..

You go thru all the trouble of setting up a guild, invite people in it,make a few nice conversations from time to time.

Then you find out it's only you talking all the time, together with the level 16 Noob that's feeling all emotional about beeing accepted in you're highly superior guild...

I happend to be a member in such a guild,so i said my goodbye's and thankyou's...

But moments later i departed...i guess i'm more of a (fun, exploring, kill a bigger mob the we are) member.

Then afterwards laugh about it,and put on thiefsuits and act like total morons, then ganging up on tigergirl.....

Yeah if you have such a guild, then i think in the end....

A good guild is awesome. 8) :)

I am guild leader and union leader on Oasis.
We are a quite strong union atm many guilds pm me each day to join union or join my guild.

That is not really bad but when something happens like ks or w/e they always whine with me. That is quite annoying sometimes. But the guild and union brings so much happiness with it so i don't mind that :)

Yeah....Being in a guild is nice especially if they live near to house or in your timezone. You can like meet up with them online or in real life. I even found out that one of my closest sro friends is a neighbour of mine.....She lives next door. How cool is that?!

Being a guild leader was one of the best things ive done in SRO. Forget the drops, the LvLs the Uniqes and everything. A Guild is the only way to really enjoy SRO

So yes, i love being a guild leader, and for those who are interested in a guild. EnForce is back (thats right Rimmer, back for real) check the link in my sig to join

I am guild leader most of our guild is rather close we are small for being lvl 4 and all but hey, we are slowly but surely growing :). Most of my members will even go as far as kicking non members out of a party to invite a guildie out of respect. We try to help each other as much as possible. I only let certain people have guild storage and almost all of those I have been in guild with for about a year altogether. 6 out of 26 people in our guild are from troy, there are some of us that has 2 chars in the guild so :P. Soon as I'm done sp farming Kitt and get her to IceQueen's lvl ill turn control over to kitt(2nd char) by that time we will be lvl 5 and beyound ! haha ~_~

well i was leader of one of the largest guilds on troy up until a couple of weeks ago cuz of real life issues. anyways, i got leadership about 3 months ago, when the old ldr became inactive and decided to play WoW. those were the worst months i spent in that guild. the guild was really inactive, because more than half my lvl70s finished farming and went on to play other games. it was a really hard time to endure cuz u really had no support in job wars, pvp, wars, and sometimes grinding can get really lonely. but now the lvl cap came, everyone is back and we're as who we were before.

but heres some general tips for managing a guild:
1. be passionate - guild first, other things later
2. it would help if you had a vent server or a guild forum (useful for large guilds)
3. organize guild events every so often - these can be from trade runs to guild wards
4. the people in your guild define who your guild is; it gives its reputation. if you constantly have botters in your guild (and keep them there), you will obviously be labeled as a botting guild. however - thats your decision in the end. Generally, keep a group of players whom you can relate to. If you hate cheaters, then don't have them in the guild.
5. Guild leaders often crave power. Do not let that happen to you. Especially for small guilds. Do not just go around recruiting every guildless lvl70 you see. When a high lvl is guildless, its usually for a reason (they got kicked from another guild for botting, scamming, etc...)
6. Often, keep a close group of very trusted friends and players. Usually a group of 5-6 people who you know has their complete loyalty to the guild can strengthen guild relations.
7. Be systematic: often new recruits will ask for many authorities, such as guild storage. be careful: alot of them like to scam your guild storage. Give them like a period- lets say 2 weeks before they get any privileges.
8. Be careful of guild hoppers (especially high lvl ones) - they will join for 2 days then suddenly leave. its terrible for guild morale.

i hope my comments help.

I tried being guild master when i was a lower level and it wasnt easy, upbringing a guild takes money that a level 2x doesnt have. I collected donations from several guild members for a while to get it to level 2 and by looking at the ones who dont donate you can tell who is really loyal to the guild. I eventually gave up on it and joined an uprising level 4 guild when i reached level 4x. This was the better choice for me because you learn more about the game from joining a guild with more experienced players in it rather than being the most knowledgeable of the game in a guild you own with all the other players being a lower level than you are. Now the guild i am in is level 5 and in a very nice and active union. I would probably be GM of a very inactive level 3 guild now had i not joined BloodLine and also i would have alot less gold. So unless you buy gold from a goldfarm site or find alot of sos weapons, I wouldnt reccomend starting a guild. Usually people only want to join if its a high level guild like 4 or 5 so it will take alot of money before you get a good member base.

im not a guild leader but im in a lvl 2 guild and its very hard to get members to join when you dont have a guild emblem or union emblem or even vent..

were at 10% lvl 2 and ill be a while till we get to lvl 3... unless we get more members .. so if u need a guild in troy server msg me!! :)

but a great thing to do is to keep the guild fun .. having weekly guild events is a very smart idea .. if u have a guild and just grind all the time then its no fun and ull have unhappy guildies..

Sometimes, I swear, TE builds itself when I am not looking. Once you have a good name for your guild, its kinda unstoppable.

I agree with nycxfool, I dont usually add random high levels. They are guildless for a reason. In a Union, guilds fall apart and most of my best members have come from that. I dont ever actively recruit unless I am joking around. ppl will come to you if you have a good reputation and active members. You know what guild names you see a lot of and so does everyone else. Unique kills help too so make sure you take your strongest members and organize the hunts. The whole server sees those.

How about from lvl 4 to lvl 5? Just the other day my gm left SRO with his irl problems taking most of his time. Now we got, out of 25 members, 5 very active. The rest are shiznit. Luckily though the gm had left his character in the hands of one of the five. And the five of us are in the range of 50-60. Looks like there will be a massive recruitment in Athens sometime in a couple of months....Anyone wanna join? :P

Edit: @Keikoo: It would be more of the other way round I think...Her build is ice blade resser. Im currently a fire light nuker....I pwn her *slurp*

Once i was bored, made a guild with my vending charactor and started waring strong guilds and hide with a friend XD
And watch the globals!

Was freaking funny. :P
I'm waiting in my cold cell, when the bell begins to chime.
Reflecting on my past life and it doesn't have much time.
'Cause at 5 o'clock they take me to the Gallows pole,
The sands of time for me are running low.

Can it be that there's some sort of error.
Hard to stop the surmounting terror.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream.

im a guild leader too, but me and my friend only invite those who are filipinos.... before inviting them into the guild, we make sure that we talk to them first, get to know them and decide if they're okay to be a member in our guild. levelling up the guild (GP and gold) was hard, but it was not a problem in our guild, they didn't have any violent reactions when i was asking for gold to level it up (but me and my friend ended up paying mills for it lol). i play everyday so having an active guild is not a problem for us, my guildmates are quite active too :)
