If you think poping would not happen if traders did something other than 1* then you would be right. The name for what would happen is slaughter. It happens less at 60+ but it does happen. And about the thing about thieves not liking to pop 1*. You must not have talked to many thieves. Sure they would prefer to catch multi. But many are so keen to pop they pop multi star as well.

Alot of this is gonna get fixed in a future update. But poping is only bad because most people do it for the wrong reasons or are total dicks about it. I was out with a 24+ guilde of mine thieving. Came upon a 30ish on horse and a 20ish on camel. The 20ish put up a decent fight. Though once I got a second spawn it was all over for him. And the 30ish wandered in close on foot and got slaughtered. I have been in similar scenarios from the opposite side many times. But what I did next no one ever did for me. I scrolled with the goods had my fun and paid them back the tiny bit of money I made plus interest. Thieving should be done for fun. Not for money. Many of the traders don't trade for fun. It is hardly ever fun. So if you are gonna prey on them don't be a douche bag. Have your fun. But when it is done try and have a heart and remember what it was like when you were there. Hell when I caught up with them to give them the money they were on a other trade run and i ran along most of the way as escort. No better way to make friends than to rob them. Pay them interest. And help on the next run. Many are just dumbfounded. But it makes a good conversation piece that they will tell to everyone and likely remember as long as they play.

People tend to remember the most recent thing you've done for them the most vividly. I helped a guy on six trades from Jangan to Hotan and back for no profit. Few days later, I'm thieving, see a merchant, rob him, not having a clue it's the guy I helped earlier in the week. Next thing I know, there's a global with him offering 500k to anyone who murders me, and calling me two-faced (o.o). Retarded proposition honestly, all that happened was that I killed a bunch of purple people :/.

you gotta count in many other factors

1. what if the high lvls are using a PvM build, like hybrid cold archer, they will be useless at PvP

2. wat about 1v1 builds? like bladers (bladers are 1v1 to me), it aint gonna be fair to them

3. what about poor chars? ppl w/ cheap gear

slaughter happens through popping anyway, example: lvl 60 thief lvl 30 merchant, 1 or 2 thieves popped and the merchant gets pwnt.
we should have somthing like any one over 30 has to do 2* or higher, but thieves higher then 40 cant attack them. same with the other *s .

look around and find multi stars. i found a few yesterday, pwndeded them all, then got chased around for hours by 5 hunters, slowly picked them all off, then let them kill me and talk shit as i went back to town.

I've been popped many times and honestly most thiefs
that i have came across i've seemed to get along with
them and have a little talk and a laugh then we go back doing
what job we're doing so it doesn't worry me.

But i think it would be better not to have lvl 30+ all doing
2 star because theres the level 45+ and all that succeeding
so maybe take it so that you can't do 1* around lvl 43-50
and that should hopefuly even a little bit of the 2 jobs out....

Umm yeah aside for the fact that when it double spawns and you are alone.......... uhh yeah. Kinda suks without the hunters. Hunters are part of the game using hunters on 5 stars is definitely acceptable, and any thief who thinks that it is noobish should definitely reconsider.
