Cause i was bored i thought why not compare these two:
Well i wanted to compare bows as they are the main farming tool, but guess what... nobody is selling one
Even though the SOS has bad % the diffrence betwen them is not that huge. While it's true that you can + the SOS so it easily surpases the +5 you can still use a +5 for farming if you find one that is. Especialy if you consider the price diffrence betwen those two.
Guess that i didn't really do a comparison betwen these two (I'm lazy I guess ).
this means +5 is as powerful as sos...i have glaive +6 lvl 18 and 1 hit ko bandits while using wolf as detour. Btw, that guy up there trying to say is, eventhough its not an sos, a high pluses item, it deserves the price as an sos.

OMG! Every little word u say is totally WRONG! Just shut it or press H in game ffs.
Think of it as a whole new item, like I said before theres oo many more advantages to having a sos. Higher base stats ( Crit, br, Ar ).
Grrrrrrrrrrr
the guy just proved that that base sos = normal +5 weapon.
the critical can be fixed, the block ratio can be added, the durability can be incresed and the attack rating can be increased. just buy stones.
i saw a +5 lvl 16 bow the guy was scammed and was told its a sos lol. still that bow was great. those 16+5 bows do cost as much as an sos trust me. this guy wanted to sell it for 2+mill. and they are good for those characters that can one shot kill at 16 without doing extra work or something.

1 shotting archers aint possible with a +5 bow.
U'll need atleast sos +5. But som +3 to 1 shot 100% of the times.
And talking about alchying a sos/+5 item.
Its easier to alchy a sos item, just as plus44 said. Why? Cos of the base stats is higher, just as plus44 said.
dude, the point isnt even if the sos can be alchemized higher or not. the point is that a base sos weapon with no alchemy is the same as a +5 weapon and here you have a great example.
also about 1 hitting archers, did you know that pure str characters can not 1 hit archers with an som+4 or som+5 weapon even when they are lvl 20?
while if your lvl 16 pure int you can one shot kill archers. why? because ints deal more damage. pure str can tank, ints deal more damage everyone knows this.

Lets see...
i have a +5 lvl 8 bow tested with imbue, 3 hit bandit archers Ko i have a +6 glaive lvl 18 1 hit ko bandits with imbue, fire.
i've tested for 1 week killing bandits as an alternative if my bow is broken. (using the lvl 18 glaive +5)
so i came out with that conclusion
So u might suggest that you yourself came out with merely a hypothesis.

Heya...true enough. we're out of topic
ffs, no one farm at lvl 18, and not with a glaive. And what do i need to hypothise about? Facts is facts.
Sos items are better than +5 weapons in all ways.
Please, just tell me 1 thing thats better with a +5 weapon.
(And no, u cant compare a lvl 18 +5 weapon with a lvl 16 sos wep. >.>)

Look at the phy and mag reinforce theres a huge difference there.
Lol at people saying +5 is exactly like plain sos, when there's proof right in front of their faces that it isn't.
Even harder lol at the people saying the pic proves it's equal.
Even if everything was equal, it is MUCH easier to +1 a sos then +6 a regular, easier to +2 than +7, easier +3 than +8, you get the idea.
Psam wrote:When the price difference between sos and +5 is 20-30 mill I will choose to go for the alternate >=> +5
Yeah, but has nothing to do with whats best.
Its the same thing like saying sos +5 is 30m more exp. than a sos +2. So ill go for the +2 one. A sos +5 is still better. ^^

lol? 16 +5 bows do NOT cost as much as SOS. You can add more +s on an SOS with a lower chance of failing, and also if you look at the %s, the SOS, with a lower %, has higher mag atk, and same with all the stats basically. Much easier to get an SOS to SOS +5 than a regular +5 to a regular +10. SOS is much more valuable than +5. +5 is a decent weapon-- SOS is an excellent one.
McCain, he (Barack Obama) said, will soon "be accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in kindergarten."
This is about a 4% difference in total magic damage. That may not seem like a lot, until you realize:
1. The +5 has better % in both areas, so it would actually be more.
2. The more int points from blue a player has, the more comparitive damage the higher reinforce weapon (SOS) will do.
3. Roughly, the average difference between a sword and spear of same level is 10% - the difference between these two is almost half that.
The main reason a SOS is not equal to a +5 (besides the fact its much easier to upgrade, it's %s have more potential, and, well, it has a glow), is the reinforce. A general rule of thumb is that the reinforce is about 1/3 the total mag. damage, while the mag. attack power is about 2/3. While a person can always use an elixir to increase mag. attack power, there is no way to "+" the reinforce.
SOS = +5
This is true when all the stats of both weapons are identical except for the (+5) of course.
SOS > +5
This is also true due to the fact that it has better potential.
Its like comparing a sports car and a normal car. You've boosted your normal car, Turbo charged it... It will have the performance of a sports car, but thats almost as far as u can go... While the sports car still have plenty of space to improve.
SOS = +5 This is true when all the stats of both weapons are identical except for the (+5) of course.
For the love of god NO NO NO and NO Ok?
They can never be identical, plz go find one which is identical.
@Doru, thanks for explaining that in detail. I just hope everyone takes a look at it before postin Bullshit again. By the way .. I'm not to sure about your perception of the meaning of the mag reinforce, or any reinforce for that fact. Anyways good facts
