DELAY WHEN RUNNING

Post by dthandi »

Hi I need help I have a geforce fx 5200 at 128MB and I think this card is fine for silkroad. Everytime I try to move my character I get this delay in running so basically when i click somewhere it will move after about 3 seconds. Things are kind of choppy. If anyone knows how to fix this problem please respond asap. THankyou

Sounds like lag from the server or your internet connection to me. Do you also get delay when you attack, use a spell, equip/buy/sell items? If so then it's definitly not your graphics card. You can test your connection speed here. With a cable connection you should get at least a megabit/second download. If you have a router and someone is using it to download/upload that will eat up your bandwidth right quick.

Post by dthandi »

Is there anyone else with a gefroce fx 5200 128mb and has no lag? could norton anti virus 2006 be laggn me up or taking up too much of my system resources? All i have running is usually msn and norton av....my computer is fairly new i shouldnt be lagging? Are all the sr servers perhaps far from Canada? The only server i have really played in is Aege..

It could be that, but it sounds more like a problem with the game server. If you run other games fine it's probably lagging for everyone because the servers are so full.

Same card and issue here.

Ironically, I can play this game better on a Dell 2.0GHz Northwood with a 1GB RDRAM and 128MB Matrox Parhelia than I can with my home-built rig (2.4GHz Prescott OC'd to 2.8GHz, 1GB DDR dual channel, 128MB Nvidia Gefore FX 5200).

:(

Same card, same lag.

But I experience the same lag off of a new Toshiba satellite with a gig of ram, 2.3 ghz processor, ect.

This was on a cable connection. It’s the freakin servers. And monkeys. >_>

Definately the connection/server issue. My comp. at work (with crappier specs) gets great performance b/c we're on a university connection with T3's all over the place. At home, however, I just have Cable internet.....

New servers and more lag?

Post by dthandi »

Yea Im also on a cable connection. But as I posted before on the silkroad.net forum about the new servers. I honestly find it being pointless with the new servers that are being released. There should be another one out soon. If they can't make there old servers stable and not lag the new ones wont do any better. The lag needs to be fixed or players from this game are going to drop dramatically. Id rather see less servers that are stable then seeing more servers that run like crap. Just a piece of mind since I guess my problems is based on the server side.

It's not the video card.

I have the same exact card and am running the game comfortably at 1184x794 resolution, background draw 5, character draw 5, shadow circle, reflection off, and water detail medium.

I don't know what the problem could be besides net lag. I just wanted to let you know your card is fine.
