War With Bots

Hello. This is Silkroad Online.

During today's weekly server inspection period, unlike the previous process of GM's investigating bot users directly, bot users that have been checked by the system have been punished altogether.

Those that have been punished add up to a number of 1,500 accounts throughout all servers, and to provide clean gaming environment, we will continue to punish extensive scale of bots.

We apolgize for not showing enough bot blocking activity due to preparation of this block, and Silkroad Online will try our best to satisfy our users expectation.

Punishment Target: 1,500 accounts throughout the servers
Punishment Detail: Infinite block

*To make this punishment process undercover, we have only managed to get a hold of the account names. The detailed list of the blocked accounts will be listed within this week. From next time, the full character names will be listed.

It's about dam time....

They dont have to use the GM to go around and look at ppl directly anymore. Apparently they can do it through the system.

Gratz JoyMax, I knew you could do it eventually.

btw. Nice that sro does this, except i dont get it 100% Do they mean that they overal blocked a total of 1500 bots ? Or do they have 1500 new names we don't seen yet?

Kinda confuses me to...
As i understand it:
They have blocked 1500 bots over all servers based on account name. Think this means the name that is given in when you are login in...
So they have not yet linked the accounts with the character names.

Btw by blocking account names they block not 1 but all characters on that account..; correct?

I think it means the're going to block 1.5k bots and that they have finaly implimented the system that allows that program to block it for them so the gm's can deal with other issues i.e. lag, server space etc. This is really good for us over all, gm's can finaly get other stuff done, gg joymax you've made us proud.

They always blocked the log in name..even when you had 3 chars. and 1 is botted you couldnt log in anymore.. It said @ login banned for 100 years ( seen at screenshots.. ) So that cant be it.. Im confused

They have been blocking ppl that they DONT show on th list. I think this means that they are gonna show us exactly WHO has been blocked during this time when they have been trying to keep what they are doing a secret.

so NB you mean that already blocked them in the past weeks/months?
I doubt that:

So app. they made a secret list and now blocked them all togheter just today...
Anyway this really wants to make me wanna login and see who's left in the cave hehe

Well i agree with NB someway...

I guys they finnaly found something to see botters from their system and not by looking ingame... Atleast i hope

And i think those have been banned last week(s) And those names will be released now..

And about the names. When you have 3 chars on 1 account. 1 char = banned due botting the other 2 chars will be banned 2. Because u cant loging at your account anymore. They ban the account. With the char in it..

If you read that correctly they will just give us the CHAR names of the ACCOUNTS that are already banned. So we dont get a new ban list just the CHARS that are banned with the ACCOUNTs that are already banned right?! So nothing new will come in the place only some info about the char names of the accounts 0_o man this posts confuses me.. I will just wait and see!

i prefer getting rid of grind bots first, gold-farmers later...

to my opinion grind-bots are set to be more aggresive (KS) and have better gear while gold farm bots don't seem to KS...

But in the end they need to try to get rid of them both...

Just watch goldprices at those sites to see if it mostly are goldbots that have been banned...

so they haven't given anything on these 1500 blocks yet...
In normal bot blocks they give character names, right?
Maybe now they will reveal account names (login name) because they didnt connect the accounts to the characters yet...

Anyway 1500 is a nice start, 18.500 more to go...

A botter is a botter so ban them both, specialy in cave (iv never been there) because i heard that there r to much botters there.

Annyway, great news this! Finaly they have the time (or take the time) to ban botters

Good news, I say concentrate on player bots first..a goldbot never pwnd me and called me a loser before.

But banning any bot is a step in the right direction.

Interesting. I want to see what REALLY comes of this. Bot companies dont seem too concerned, and new version of the bot came out a few hrs ago.
