Hybrid or Pure?

After receiving mixed responses to my Q+A post, I have narrowed it down to a simple question:

Would a 2:1 (INT) sword + shield Hybrid work? If Not, why not? And in that case, what would?

I'm currently just sp farming at the mo, so Ill ask about what skills another time.

They work very well. But i'd invest in a little bit more in than 1:2. I'd make a 90% mag bal when nekkid. And go s/s.

I agree, they do very well. They are one of the top builds besides for the popular pure str glavie. Personally, this is my favorite build. This build can PvP very effectively and also can be a very good support char.
