Go Start->Control Panel->Network and Internet Connections->Network Connections. Select the connection you are using now, right-click on it and choose properties. On the new window, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on properties. It will pop up another window, check the option Obtain DNS server address automatically. This should do the job.

By large, most users have this option "Obtain DNS server address automatically" as default, unless they have previously specified the address manually.

[edit]

I don't want to put up another post, so I edited this one.

I have 2 computers and 1 laptop at home. Obviously I use only mine to play because it has the best specs. I tried to run the game on the other computer and laptop and it gives the same error. It seems that gameguard is not connecting to the gameguard server. All the settings on all 3 machines are verified and I have done the same proper steps on all 3 machines but the error still occur. Verified my lan settings and contacted ISP to but no avail. It doesn't connect.

I've done everything, multiple re-installs, multiple changes to gameguard, updated all drivers. Nothing working

Firewall

Post by hyionno »

Well i have windows XP and certainly I have windows shit firewall that gave me only problems till today... I JUST SHOOT OFF the firewall and it worked fine, so always when I'm going to play i kick off firewall but sadly it alows other gamers to hack me... but luckyly never happened to me.

If you wish to disable your firewall go to: Painel control> Windows Firewall (or sthng like that)> select "Deactivated" from the firewall window!!!
AT LEAST THAT'S FOR WINDOWS XP AND SERIES, I DONT KNOW HOW IT WORKS FOR OTHER PLATAFORMS...MAYBE IT WORKS THE SAME FOR OTHER WINDOWS PLATAFORMS...
