yes i know passwords are brutable, I had my fair share of experience obtaining them. there is no surety of an invincible password, hence change it often....
if you have a better idea than mine on how to make strong passwords then you're more than welcomed to share your experience and thoughts with us, any knowledge is useful at this point.

Well... That would only end up giving them your forum account, not your actual in-game account.. Because, as far as I know, there's no need to use the same account for the forums as you use in-game.
And the keylogger stuff, heck, even one click in the wrong spot on a website and you could get one of those installed. Click yes on an "Active-X controller" warning, and they might get the shot at installing whatever stuff they want on your machine. =X

About the posting on official forum part. Yes, JM is dumb enough to link your real login ID and login PW directly with the forum account. So if you want to log on the forum to post there, you have to login with your accout id and account pw! And this is exactly what the hax0r guys exploited to get the account info on people that posts there.

*sigh*.. Sounds like FLEU boards... Doesn't seem like the passwords and usernames are too well encrypted either.. I guess it's the same mistake that they did on a Swedish government site, left everything unencrypted so anyone could just do a search in Google and get the passwords..

This is untrue. If you actually go to the SRO official forums, it requires you to use an ign that is on the account you use for your character in game. The only way to get around this is to create a new account, login to it in game and create a character then post on the forums.
But yes people are using the forums to hack people >.>
