wow you locked the other thread nice. Screw it Im posting it here then here is the final response from morningdew gm and head of operations office in cali.
We do not retrieve account passwords, give them out, or change account settings. We don't give this information out to anyone, not even the account holder. When people forget their answer to the secret question, or want to reset their password, WE DO NOT GIVE OUT THE ANSWER, NOR DO WE RESET OR GIVE OUT PASSWORDS.
Now, with that being cleared...
[GM]Crayon is a person with the highest moral integrity, and I respect him deeply. I am tired of people accusing us GMs of giving out information to our cousin/brother/sister/son/daughter/grandmother or some random relative. WE DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION REGARDING A USER TO ANYONE, NOT EVEN THE RELEVANT USER.
All GM actions leave an extensive log that is reviewed periodically by someone in higher management. That means that if we were to ever look up someone's password, IT WOULD BE LEFT AS A LOG. This is also how we know that no GMs have given out information or had their GM tools hacked.
Now once and for all, please give this issue a rest. If you still feel a concern for activities in Greece, submit a Bug Report to the Customer Service section.
Just thought you all would like to see what caring gms we have.

Who the hell ever said the GMs gave info away? Point in their direction, and you will feel my left hand cracking in that direction.

So now that I never will forget this info. I feel secure knowing that noone else can find out my shit without me directly telling them.
So why are you flipping shit ove this deathtoall? It's a good thing.

Not really flippin out. Just wondering if I should start over on a new server. Because i dont' want to have to deal with this kind of stuff once I reach cap. I want to have fun playing. Not worry every day if when I logon is my stuff gonna be there, ya know. And just to be clear on wht I meant was, there are actual people that can brute and or hack any account, they are out there. Just don't know if they are on my server or not..:p
and with that Im done, sorry for all the rambling.

A reason why SRO never improved, it came from our beloved SRO seniors.
Had given my account to my Guildmate, raising a new char.

Most systems have a way to retrieve all client information just like banks and credit cards and their pin numbers. Why would a game need such absolute security?
So why are you flipping shit ove this deathtoall? It's a good thing.![]()
Actually, Greece is hell. The PW and Secret Answer wasn't even part of the question if you read deathtoall's' post. He said "Is anything going to be done about the rampant stolen accounts in greece."
The only likely culprit besides other hacks I find is that it might be easier to crack a secret answer with the hinting queston than to crack a random PW.
I play on greece and a few very notable players have been hacked:
germanleader
XMAT
ZhengLei (or something)
Greece players are always blaming it on Poseidon and his guild, EliteDiebe, who are fully equipped with SOS and hacked-player-SOS items. Poseidon's SOS glavie 64+9 was germanleader's. I believe D34TH's SOS sword 64 and shield are XMAT's at least that's what I heard. Along with that, Poseidon globals that he is Crayon's cousin. Of course I don't believe everything that's said but........it makes you wonder if there are any truths to it or else he's a complete idiot. There may be others and quite frankly, it's making people nervous.
Greece also used to have trading bots backed by the rather strong sos-equipped guilds. Legacy used to trade non-stop with 5+ one-star oxes with two 70 hunters on horses 24/7. I tried to thief pop them several times but their backup comes. Greece is home to the 10+ bot lineups by the herbalist as well.
Seriously Greece seems really messed up and from level 1 to 70, I have yet to be blessed by the presence of any GM. The only incidence I can remember is an ex-union SOS glavie 52 member getting a PM from a GM asking if he's a bot 3 or 4 months ago?
Is it like this on any other servers?
EDIT: Where's the source on that GM message deathtoall?

chaud wrote:There is even a free public bruteforcing program out lol. Accounts on any server (almost typed realm) are not secure. I expected the GMs last to reply to be something like "afk".
So that everyone doesn't panick, brute force works on rather common passwords (123456, 654321, asdf, qwerty, john, doe, smith, etc...) but is really of no concern to any semi-complicated password user who makes long passwords and includes numbers or mixes them up. To brute force such a password is improbable, it takes WAY too many tries and hopefully websites catch the retrials....
