It's true that the botters keep the monsters at bay,and act as mob magnets,but i believe that fact could also be accomplished by normal players.

I have a life and I don't bot. It's kinda sad when some people thinks that others don't bot because they don't have a life. I don't really care if people want to bot, it's their choice, but when they go around boasting about it and tell the non notter that they don't have a life, it's a bit annoying.

GM's dont ban bots because they are too busy babysitting their bots trying to get to 100. lol even if you've done it legit the first time, botting a character is still cheating. if you finished an exam with 100% the first time, it doesnt mean you can cheat and get 100% the second time(not studying can get you "out of the house"). If you've writen a 10 paged paper with your own words, it doesnt mean you can plagerize the next one(theres a couple hours out of the house). If you bought a PS3, it doesnt mean you should sell just the box on ebay for 7k just incase some retard decides to buy it. you can apply cheating anywhere.

botting is cheating.

if you have a "life" then dont play sro that often. i don't. i don't have the time or want to sit there for hours clicking with one hand and pressing numbers with the other. but i still play since i enjoy the friends ive made on here. and you can't say im a 'noob', i have a lvl 70, and two other characters that are slowly, but surely, making their way up to 70, and im in an awesome guild :wink:

no... no... people bot because they're lazy to press a few buttons, because i know most botters babysit nowadays half the time theyre on, AND in addition to that they are inconsiderate to some innocent people. when you cheat on a game, you cheat on the players who play it. fyi, i think thats the excuse the 15-year old but yet still pre-pubecent botters use.

i'd hope its that way in this case, but if you just look at the way silkroad is atm, the poll actually seems quite accurate. i had to vote to look at the poll results, it would be idiotic if someone actually enjoyed choosing one option all day long if there was no reward/self-gratification in doing so(though it has been done).

The poll probably doesn't show a correct figure. I believe there are more botters than that.

Take in to consideration that the people that got lvl 60-70 early by botting, also has tens of gold farmers and a few alts at high levels. aswell as shared characters, friends, guilds, family etc.

I really hope that joymax implement some botting countermeasures asap.
This is somewhat reassuring though..

no one cares if he has a life or not. theres no excuse for cheating. dont have time to play? well learn to accept it. not everyone here has time to play: time to grind 3 hours of gold ticket. i know i dont, and i know plenty others who fall into the same category. i havent had a gold ticket in a couple months now.

lmao nobody enjoys grinding(except for corndog maybe), its still no excuse to bot. i dont like working, but if i dont work i dont get paid. i dont like grinding, but if i dont grind i wont be able to support my guild/union. you invest time, you get the rewards. if you cant handle the work load of exercising your fingers, then dont play at all, find another game that isnt so grind based.

I'll never understand this thinking. If you don't have time to play SRO, because you want to go to the gym or whatever, here's a thought.... don't play SRO. Why is it so important to people to level up their character to cap? If you have a lot on your plate, work, tending to the house, kids, family, going to the gym, of course there's not time for SRO. Maybe you could fit a few hours in here or there, but quite frankly if you're hardly putting any time into SRO, you don't deserve to have a capped character.

Some people say that they will only bot an alternate character after their main one hits cap. But why? It's still cheating. Yes, you worked hard to get your main character built up, but that doesn't mean you should bot a second one. Just stick to the first.

SRO wants you to bot, droprates for good items suck (they probably rounded them down when more botters appeared), gameplay is repetitive and boring, no interesting other activities besides grindin and trading (the thief/trade/hunt system is f*cked) so wtf did you expect, the more the game blows, the more people bot. SRO still rox imho (^_^)
(I still play legit dhough, so no BS about "dont like it, quit")
in the near future everything is gonna get more exspensive then it now is, meaning that for a "new player" it's gonna get allot harder to play the game seriously, thus making it even more attractive for "new players" to bot.

it happens with every rpg that doesnt have sufficient anti hacking agents

r u serious? hand grinding to lvl 70 doesn't show how good u r. just how devoted u r. neone, if given the time, can reach 70, yes, even botters who quit botting and start from lvl 1 legit.
