Physical Reinforce?

Post by Cerus »

There is Physical Attack Power and also Physical Reinforce in every Weapon.

I see alot of weapons with Physical Attack Power (+XX%) but its Physical Reinforce could be +0% and vice versa.

I know physical attack power means the attack power of your weapon. So i am just wonderring what does Physical Reinforce means? and what does it actually do?

No that is the attack rating. Reinforcement gives extra damages based on your str/int.

No that is the attack rating. Reinforcement gives extra damages based on your str/int.

Attackrating "decides" how much of that xx-xxx damage of your weapon you'll do, the higher atkrating, the bigger chance of doing more damage. And iirc reinforcements is like pomgbow said, it gives extra damages based on str/int stats. Therefore, the higher the better (as always).

You just used a term to describe itself....heh.

As said above, the % listed for reinforces adds that much more defense (or damage) to your overall amount (on your char sheet) by multiplying the reinforce by your str or int (str for phys and int for mag, obviously).

Chest piece with 8% physical reinforce and 10% magical reinforce:

You have 100 Str and 50 Int

100*.08 = 8 phys defense given on top of the listed defense on the item
50*.1 = 5 mag defense

You have 100 Int and 50 Str

50*.08 = 4 Phys defense
100*.1 = 10 mag defense

So thats why str chars in heavy armor can purely tank melee type monsters much higher level than them, and int chars can with things like taoists/other magic monsters. Not only is armor the best in phys defense, it also has better reinforce scores, as is garment with magic. Generally though in the upper levels, players tend to switch to equipment that covers their weaknesses. So a nuker in armor and a tank in garment. The formulas above should work for damage too, just consider that the % ~ % range they give is for you to calculate the min and max damage bonus from your str/int, and not just the average.

that would all make sense, exept for the fact that most things have reinforces that are at 80%-105%~ for phys and 99%-120%~ for mag, (jsut examples) which would put the defense much to high

from what i got off of the silkroad website sticky in their forums...phy reinforce means if uhave 100% phy reinforce compared to 0% the 100% reinforce weapon would degrade or become damaged allot slower than the 0% when using physical attacks...and magical reinforce is the same but for when using magic attacks

thats wat i thought also.
but to test it, it would take forever. well maybe not forever but im not doing it lol

kill x amount of the same mob with 0% phy/mag reinforce
check ur duralibilty
kill x amount of the same mob with 100% phy/mag reinforce
check ur dur

and must use the same skill on each mob

who is up for it? :D

Those %s are on weapons, though, not armor. Most armors have around 5-15% reinforces. On weapons (like mine) you will see a 90% ~ 105% reinforce. My magic Damage jumps up over 100 points from where it SHOULD be when I equip my weapon, and I have around 120 int.

So..
