Well that sucks. Can you recall a time in the recent past that you downloaded a questionable file from a website or from someone on MSN/AIM?
Rarely do people actually get 'hacked'. They get their passwords figured out or they download a keylogger.
Being hacked is when someone has access to every part of your computer and can be there watcing at any time.(I think
) It's a much more serious deal than losing your SRO items.

thats sucks, i hope u can get on your feet again.
i read that theres a trade, party, whatever hack going on. well its possible. if SRO clients manage pm between party members directly, i dont know if it does it or not, but if it does it there is a chance that a hacker could take your ip and scan your pc for windows vulnerabilitys, trojan horses, spywares, vulnerabilitys in other companys products that u are using. i know that even some printer old drivers can give access to a hacker if he/she know how to xploit those bugs. the "best" way to prevent this is by installing a good antivirus/firewall, so far as i know there are no 100% effitive antivirus or firewalls around but its better than go around with 0/0 protection
ps.: actually i have no idea how SRO client handles party/trade pms, but knowing how Joymax handles other issues related to the game security i wouldnt find very dificult to imagine that they choose the worst way to deal with that.
ps.2: this link has info about preventing hack attacks: http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=9141&highlight=hacking+prevention there are more threads like this in the forum so u can check and find out how to make a little more safe your time in inet
