BLADE PVP

While many in iSRO believe blade is the best pvp build, from rumors from friends, a few posts in forum. This is true, but the build they believe to be the best is very very wrong. Ask any high lvl blade character on Korean or TW server and they'll confirm what I tell you. Mostly because I've been talking to lvl 80+ korean players for about a month now.

Here it is:
Fire. Period. BLades do not use ice or lightning, both have been proven over and over to be too weak. Yes a blade can tank with ice, but it will never kill. An Ice blade will never take off 10K+ hp off a glaive. Ice is just the weakest force you can use, a lightning blade has more power. Fire is the choice, there is no such thing as a good ice blade. Only in iSRO where people love to see a blade chain with ice for 10 minutes is it good. Anywhere else people want to see a 1 minute battle, with a fire blade with huge dmg.

No chain! Chains are weak! Chains take time... A good pvp blade never uses chains for the reason I already said. After lvl 60, blade will have 3rd book knockdown and 3rd book stab. 3rd book stab allows for 2 stabs and then a second book for 3 stabs total. You can if you are quick, have up to 4 stabs including first book, requires very nimble fingers. The knockdowns cool down period are set so they can be used over and over without any combos needed. A good blade maxed knockdown and maxed fire will do more dmg from 1 knockdown than in the whole chain with crit. And will take less time. I say again, no good blade pvp past 60+ uses chains.

High crit: You want this more than glaives. Because blades normal hit isn't as high as a glaives soul spear, you want to get your crits. When a blade crits on a knockdown and get his 3 stabs in, very good chance that your oppenent is dead. That simple. A crit anywhere among your knockdowns and stabs will be huge.

How many of you died when a glaive used his soul spear and criticalled? This is exactly what blade do. Except your on your back, can't do anything, and he crits on his stabs, which can outdmg a glaive. Imagine 12K dmg minimal just from 1 knockdown and 3 stabs. Yes it can be potted, but when you stand up and the blader criticals on his 3rd book knockdown, you're dead. Fighting high lvl good blades is more frustrating than fighting an ice user, you're constantly on your back and always fearing he may get a critical that will end your life. Think about it and talk to some high lvl bladers. Im not talking about the extremely weak ice bladers lvl 60s here, those guys never kill unless their oppenent is 5 lvls below them. Even then its hard for them.

I was actually wondering about this the other day when someone was telling me that i shouldn't bother learning the knockdown move because it doesn't do any damage. As I spent a little time looking into it more and more i found out that this was most likely not the case. Now the only major dilema i have is which one of my two characters to play :cry:

str/fire/glavie or str/fire/blade.........i can't decide :cry:

Nah.

I have a pure STR blader, but I use fire, lightning and force, just because that's how I want to play. I also have a pure INT spear user, with ALL force masteries.

I farmed and did curst hearts, worked very hard

Switched from 3:2 lightning archer to 2:1 FIRE.

Very happy with the results. Hits pretty hard now.

Left lightning at 30 for running, % bonus, and a couple other skills.

But Fire gives me passive % phys and temporary buff % phys.

I have fought about 4 people a bit higher than me who had ice with glavie or blade, and they couldnt kill me. Ice slow; very annoying. But just not enough damage.

Fires temp magic protection, and wearing protector helps a lot with nukers too. Doesnt 1-2 hit me anymore !

I am happier with my build now. First char, so not really pure / perfect - but good.

But, he only had res so he could kill people a second time. LOLOL.

can i still change the future of my character? im lvl 26 and have lvl 20 ice and sord mastery and lightning mastry?my fir mastery is at lvl 13 can i still shift to the lightning fire nuker?or would it make my build worse?

Isnt that true, I have force skills up to date, up to level 27 right now and I res every1 i see even if i have to get off my horse.

Then when I die when getting smacked around by a red thief, Im sleeping on the road, along with 5 others, for about 20 minutes waiting for someone to res, even when there are 4 level 5x's, just babbling about, saying sorry no res (hence the red thief)

about the nuker... u say that fire makes more damage than lightning, and ice is useless... but when u see fireskills treee, many skills of fire are for phys dmg i am right? so maybe use lightning and ice, like some other ppl tell, ice can be fine too...

hello,
i wanna make a nuker, but i dont know which skills
i should take in bicheon and heuksal.

The most weapon skills are for phy attack and a nuker
uses magic att, so i dont know why and which i should take.

as everyone can see, with the auto pot and pill, ice becomes even more useless.

plan ahead people. look to korean sro before you rush in and make a character that wont stand the test of time.

Make whatever build you want to and that you want to play with, you can make it work if you're a good player (well, except INT-users with glavie or blade...but other than that).

EDIT: But he's right about ice being pretty much useless for freezing with the autopot/autopill function they added. I fought an orange/red NPC ice thief yesterday (I'm pure INT), and he couldn't kill me, which felt pretty good.

I am very happy with my (mostly) STR Fire Archer.

Owned an ice archer thief same level as me (or higher, judging by weapon) 7 to 1.

Err, someone helped once. So call it 6 to 1.

The 1 I lost was against zerk.

Happy hunting Stacie. That is happiness. People are asking me now whether or not they can take loot.

I play to win. Now I am starting to. If you choose to just grind, trade and totally avoid PVP, thats your choice, and you don't have to listen. But this is a PVP game. There is no non-PVP server. Even 1* trading isnt totally safe.

Thanks Fly for helping me fix my char. Things would be even better if I did it correctly from the start and wasnt so hybrid.

1. im capped at level 60.
2. my math is 100% accurate up to my level. after that it will be changed as soon as i begin to hit those levels.

Dammit I've been considering getting out of Ice and now one of the last proponents of ice is out. SD if you wouldn't mind would you pm me with some info on the skills you are using. Appreciate it.

Level 30 Ice is going to cost a bunch to delevel. At least I only have imbue leveled.

Okay understand I will not say ice is totally useless. It DOES INTERUPT my spirit bow, and devil bow attacks, which is REALLY annoying.

The autopot / autopill system HAS helped with this, but it still interupts.

THEN, I will say you will lose much SP (you only get 80% back) and money doing this. Trust me, I had to do it.

Then you will need to do SP farming for some levels to regain what was lost. Its very tough to change a level 30 build. Believe me.

Knowing that....

If you choose to switch, myself and others are here to offer what we know, and will. Are you STR or INT?

I can beleive the (4) big builds thing here, and thier 1v1 ability to be the strongest, but there is much more to the game then 1v1.

There is team PvP here to consider also. If a Blader wiht Ice can interrupt/slow prime damage dealers such as the strong 1v1 build here then they become paralyzed and easy to kill 2v1 or 3v1.

Ice 1v1 is weak damage, a player of equal level using Ice Blade isnt going to kill but its also goinf to be very hard for another melee build to kill him other than very timely crits or nonfreeze/interrupt periods.

The whole story here is what you want, if you want to be a 1v1 powerhouse then you need to probably pay very close attention to these (4) builds, btu if you are looking for an all around team concept setup dont count your Icer out by any means even wiht the autopot deal.

Everyone seems to be attacking and contesting this thread.

Read the title. It says:

Fys SRO Guide Fast leveling and the top 4 Builds.

It does NOT say:

The only builds available to you on the entire forum.

If you don't like them, don't use them. Do as you wish.

And yes, they are PVP builds. For a lot of us, thats what matters. To some, it doesnt.

If I wanted to play solo without competition of other players, I'd go play Ceaser III (owns j00.)

I dont apreciate people comming here saying 'oh this guide is total crap'.

If you dont like the builds, don't use them. Its really simple. There are other threads and builds available to you here.

i think the main complaint on that is that it DOES say the 'top 4' builds, when in reality that's just an opinion. maybe it would get less people upset if the title was changed to something less........ egotistical-sounding? not sure that's exactly the word i'm looking for, but the title suggests that these 4 builds are the best. period. and other people have differing opinions. just my 2 cents tho.

lol I think I agree with fly on everything except ice being useless. Auto pill doesn't stop ice at all, those who say it does make me think they're noobs. When you use a pill you have a delay where you can't do anything afterwards, thus even with auto pill ice still pwn your atk speed. I believe it's better to go fire and ice but thats just me and what i'm doing.
