user profile disconnect

hi i use the family comp and when im not using the comp i log off my profile which has admin on it. But i notice that when i log off my profile gets no internet like my aim and sro shuts down so i cant put up stalls which sucks. Anyone know how to keep the cable internet connected even when i log off my profile. I have comcast and when i say log off i mean switch user.

The other user profile, if it is not an administrator profile, needs to have permission granted by the administrator profile to have access to the internet. From your admin profile, enable non-admin profiles to have access to the internet. That should solve the problem.

ok well i thought i would just give my sis (the only profile without admin) admin would this solve the problem?

Giving your sis' profile admin access means she can install/remove programmes, change filenames, delete files and make other system-wide changes. You can do so if you wish but if you don't want that give me a few more hours, I'll get back to you regarding this.

[edit] I need to know which particular O/S are you using.

lol sry stallowned, she gave herself admin lol using my parents account so i dont really care but ya even though i gave it to her the internet for my profile gets shut down. Ill prolly have to call comcast.
EDIT-just got off the phone with customer support and the guy just said it was a software issue like a security program and i have no idea which one.
i have microsoft antispyware, spybot S&D, adaware se personal, and this virtual machine program that i cant uninstall i installed it accidentally once but now i cant uninstall or close it cuz its in the system process.

Now that you mentioned it, I see the problem too. I doubt MS Antispyware is doing that but you might want to check the settings. Spybot S&E and Adaware SE Personal are 2 programs I never used. I have no clue what this virtual machine programme is. As you said, there is a system process running in the background that is associated to this programme.

As I am not physically there to assist you with the problem, I advise that you do find someone who is physically there who can assist you (no, I don't trust anything other than MS Support). I will not and dare not leave instructions on how you can handle this problem, solely because if anything does happen to your computer, I will not be there to restore it. I apologise for not being able to help you with this problem.

Can't help you much but I will tell you that spybot S&D sucks. I don't know if it does it's job or not, but it's a pain in the ass. I uninstalled it and am very happy with my decision.
