Weapon + Build Guid

Post by G0LDW01f »

Here it is Ryoko :D

The Weapon Guid

Legend:

STR build - majority of player's stat points are put into STR
• INT build - majority of player's statpoints are put into INT
• all STR - all of player's stat points are put into STR
• all INT - all of player's stat points are put into INT
• 2:1 - player's stat points are put approx. twice as much in STR than INT
• 1:2 - player's stat points are put approx. twice as much in INT than STR
• 1:1 - player's stat points are put approx. equally into STR and INT (a.k.a. Balance build)
---
• Sword - One handed magical weapon
• Blade - One handed physical weapon
• Spear - Two handed magical weapon
• Glaive - Two handed physical weapon
---
• Weapon skills - skills in one of three weapon skill trees (Bicheon (Sword/Blade), Heuksal (Spear/Glavie), Pacheon (Bow))
• Force skills - Four different skills you can use (Cold, Lightening, Fire, Force)
• Mastery Level - level of a certain skill
Stat Points: Basics:

When a player levels, she is given 5 stat points.
2 of those stat points are automatically allocated for you, 1 to STR and 1 to INT.
3 remaining need to be allocated by the player.

A stat point to STR will add HP, Physical Attack, Physical Defense
A stat point to INT will add MP, Magical Attack, Magical Defense

Builds: Basics

For obvious reasons, Blade and Glaive users usually do STR builds.
Sword and Spear users do INT builds.
Bows can go both ways.
You can also do a 1:1 build…More on that below.

STR builds:
Your main damage skills will be your Weapon skills.
You will have a harder time levelling than INT builds.

In my opinion, STR builds should put close to all their stat points into STR.
The 2:1 build is not recommended.
Benefits for adding to your INT aren't worth the stuff you'll be losing for not putting it in STR.

When learning Force skills, particularly the first row ones that add damage to your weapon, it is usually best to keep them at lvl1 or 2, not higher, for better MP efficiency.

Also, consider levelling Bowmanship to lvl10 even if you are not a Bow user. The Bowmanship tree has an accuracy passive skill at lvl10 which is beneficial to all STR builds. The physical attack passive in Spearmanship is also obviously beneficial to all but it is only 1% at level 1 so it is up to you to determine if it's worth it

If run speed is important to you level Lightning to lvl12 for Wind Walk skill lvl1

INT builds:
Your main damage skills will be your Force skills.
You will level fast, but will find it hard to beat the high HP of STR builds in PVP later on.

All INT and 1:2 builds are both viable choices. All INT build will do more damage but 1:2 build has more survivability.

Balance (1:1) builds:

Balancing INT and STR is not impossible, but unless you spend a lot of time farming SP the build will be difficult to do well. The benefit of concentrating on STR or INT is that STR builds can concentrate their SP on Weapon skills and INT builds can concentratet their SP on Force skills. As a Balance build you will have to put as much SP as you can into both in order to make the best of both worlds.

Guides to Common Builds
Blade:
• Blade - STR Build
o Stat points: All STR
o Skill Trees:
 Swordmanship: Concentrate on Chain Sword Attack series, Blade Force series and the Shield Protection passive. Hidden Blade and Killing Heaven series aren't really used in PvE but good to have for PvP. Shield Technique is very good for defensive players.
 Force Skills: Cold or Fire. Cold for defensive builds and Fire for offensive.
Cold: Cold Force series, Frost Nova series, and Cold Armor passive.
Fire: Fire Force series, Flame Body series and Flame Devil passive.
Sword:
• Sword - INT Build
o Stat points: All INT or 1:2
o Skill Trees:
 Swordmanship: Concentrate on Chain Sword series and Shield Protection passive. A little bit of Hidden Blade and Killing Heaven also suggested.
 Force Skills: For PvP go Cold + Lightning. For PvE go Fire + Lightning.
Lightning: Wind Walk series, Lion Shout series, Heaven's Force passive
Cold: Cold Force series, Frost Guard series, Cold Armor passive, maybe one Frost Nova and Snow Storm series
Fire: Fire Force series, Fire Protection series and Flame Wave series
Glavie:
• Glavie - STR Build
o Stat points: All STR
o Skill Trees:
 Spearmanship: Concentrate on Soul Departs series, Chain Spear series, Cheolsam HP passive. Flying Dragon series just to Flying Dragon-Fly lvl1. Ghost Spear series optional. Fanning Spear optional for those that do a lot of AoE hunting.
 Force Skills: Fire and Cold both have their advantages.
Fire: Fire Force series, Flame Body series and Flame Devil passive
Cold: Cold Force series, Frost Nova series, and Cold Armor passive
Also spend some SP on Lightning and Heal for their passives. Both are learned at mastery lvl10.
Spear:
• Spear - INT Build
o Stat points: All INT recommended since Spearman ship gives HP bonus passive. 1:2 ok also.
 Spearmanship: Cheolsam passive, Chain Spear is good to learn.
 Force Skills: Lightning highly suggested. Thunder Force series, Wind Walk series, Lion Shout series, Thunderbolt series, Heaven's Force passive.
Bow:
• Bow - ALL Build
o Stat points: All STR
o Skill Trees:
 Bowmanship: Concentrate on Anti Devil series, Arrow Combo series, White hawk and Blue Hawk, Break Heaven series, Mind concentration passive.
 Force Skills: Cold highly suggested. Cold force series, Frost Guard and Cold Armor. Lvl1 Frost Nova-Wind can save your ass in bad situations.

Have FUN!!! 8)

Nice but may I suggest you do the following.

Quick run down of each skill - Vital for strange builds and also extremely useful.

Advice on quick leveling in areas which really drag. For example right now I'm having to kill bandits and finding them in any numbers is damn difficult. If you're using weak skills because you don't know where to build them up quickly it'll put people off using the build when it maybe perfect for them.

Awsome how you pointed the basics out so clearly.. maybe another layout would've done better, but it deserves a +

There could've been done alot more work to the skills, which I think also has some wrong statements in it, but because of the first part I think it's an ok guide for the starters.
Do not write stupid, when somebody loses.l lik the game myself but my 6jears old kid,who like to play games so much, has refuse to play, bcos of that word.Pls write something abit funny.l hope you consider my suggestion.Thank you and God bless you.

Just a few things:
Lightning: if you get this to lvl 12 and obtain book 1, you will get ksed the crap out of you l8r on because you move so slow from mob to mob....everyone gets this higher than lvl 1

Cold: the main purpose of this tree is for defense, why not have them get the defense buff, not just the passive? if you get cold, you get them both.

Blader: shield technique series isn't very good at all, if you get it l8r on it might have the slightest chance of being helpful in guild wars. the Strike'n smash series provides a quick low cost hit between or after chains. KD and stabs are 2 of the bladers MOST IMPORTANT skills, in pvp AND pve

FIRE for blader: as this is most likely a pure str character, you need all the magic defense you can get, so why not get the Fire protection series? most pure str get this too. The flame shield thing which is a effect status reduction is very handy in pvp, most people with knowledge of da game get this for pvp.

ALL int SWORD: A int nukers sword/shields main skills under bicheon are his kds and stabs.
Light: you must have never gotten to lvl 30 and tried the light nukes. nukers do get these believe it or not. as well as the parry increase buff as well as the passive. atleast you know to have shock lion shout.
Cold: nukers don't bother will cold imbue, they extract most of thier damage from imbues. they use FIRE and some occasionally use lightning.

in pvp, nukers have to do the MOST DAMAGE POSSIBLE, so they don't use cold/light imbues. partially because of low damage and at higher lvls most people are immune to status error effects

Fire: if you farm, get the passive and the flame body wisdom cause hey, every bit helps. Max all the fire nukes.

PURE str glaive: main skills are the soul speart, GHOST PETAL, and dragon flow and passive, some get the chains too.

FIRE: get fire protection series too.
COLD: most glaivers get fire imbue but some get cold/ get the extra defense buff if you have any sense whatsoever.
LIGHT: everyone gets this past lvl 10 12 or wtver you are saying.

All INT spear: my fav build: your main weapon skills should be soul spear, and ghostpetal and the passive, don't even bother with the CHAINS. some ints also get dragon flow, depending on how much sp they have.

FIRE: this should be your MAIN IMBUE. also get the physical dmage % increase buffs, especially if your a hybrid. and get fire protection series and the nukes.

LIGHT: forget this imbue: get the wind walk, the phantom glide thing, shock lion shout, the nukes, and both parry ratio increase

COLD: alot of ints take this for the defense buffs, and the frost novas, and some get the aoe nuke too.

BOW: are you serious?

SKILLS: bows have a wide diversity of skills to choose from, i maxed anti devil, combo, white and blue hawk, autmn wind flame, explodign arrow, passive, the range increase thing, and strong bow.

FIRE: this is where your PHYSICAL (AKA STR) damage increase buffs are as well as fire protection series. get fire imbue

COLD IMBUE: is okay for pve, but in pvp most people become immune get the defense buffs and passive an maybe a frost nova (but remember you are ranged)

i do not reccomend getting bowmanship whatsoever unless...YOURE A BOW USER!....

Quit telling people to get frikkin pacheon skills if they are a bicheon or heuksal user....NOT WORTH IT!!!! Put all that *wasted* sp into your fire tree if youre a frikkin STR build. :x

That's all.
