Hello & Many MANY Queastions.
Hello!
I'm Big_Adam and I'm a complete and utter newb to all this role playing game stuff so I have many question and it seems nice here so I signed up. I got a character on the Olympus server at about level 19 now.
Anyway, being the 1st ever rpg I played is Silkroad I'm a little....well alot confused by some of the terms I hear from people and some stuff I have no idea about.
1) what is a tank?
2) SOS....I don't get what that means.
3) How do luck powders and elixirs work? (sorry, I know I should search 1st but seeming as I'm posting)
5) What are bottlers and farmers?
Also being about as simple as a hammer I've gone for a character who's fairly armour heavy. I have the Ice, Lighting, Fire and Healing skills to about 15-20 odd each which I've been told is a bad thing to do. Can someone please explain why? I thought it would be good to have a nice set of level skills.
Oh! Also many moons ago I heard you can make an charecter to store items. Just make one for storage. Being cheap I was wondering how I would do this. Or is it something that is frowned upon by the SR community?
Last thing, what is the point of a guild? Well more what is the advantage of having a guild.
Sorry to ask lots of what I probably going to find out are stupid questions but I have little idea to what I'm doing.
Thanks.

Ummm......where to start? No idea....here is a few answers:
1) what is a tank?
A "tank" is a person who can effectively survive a large number of hits. And win.
2) SOS....I don't get what that means.
Stands for Seal of Star. There is also Seal of Moon(SOM), and Seal of Sun(SOSun).
3) How do luck powders and elixirs work?
Elixers add the +1 or +2 etc +9 you see on items. Lucky powder helps you do this.
5) What are bottlers and farmers?
I think you mean "Botters". They are idiots. Plain and simple.
Farmers, don't lvl their skill trees on purpose to earn more SP.
As far as your char build......no it isn't so hot but......its your first MMORPG and your first char in that MMORPG. You will make a few more mistakes. No worries. Its a game. The important part is having fun.
I really think you should search the forums a bit and glean some knowledge from the other posts. Yes research and effort on your part will be rewarded in the future when asking questions.

A 'tank' or 'tanker' is a strength-based character that has a very high amount of HP(hit points, health) and defense(he wears armor and typically is a sword/blade and shield user). Basically, a tanker is someone that can take alot of hits, like a tank in RL.
Elixers are used to add a + to a peice of equipment in order to make it stronger. The equipment you buy in the shop or normally find from monsters has no +'s. Each + adds more power to the piece of equipment. In other words, a Hand Blade might have 90-100 physical attack power. A +3 Hand Blade would have something like 120-140 physical attack power. That's the general idea behind adding pluses to equipment. The highest number of +'s is...I don't know, but I've never heard of higher than 11. Lucky powder is used with elixers to increase your chance of success when attempting to add a +. Because doing any type of alchemy is risky. It can go back down to +0, it can blow up(it doesn't exist anymore, period)...among other things.
A botter is a person who uses a macro program to play the game for them. Their character will be playing while they aren't even at the computer.
An SP(skill point) farmer is in no way related to a botter, if that's what you were thinking. When you kill a monster, the amount of overall experience you get and the amount of SP experience you get can change depending on the gap between your highest Skill Mastery level and your overall level. In other words, say you're level 19. If you have your highest Skill Mastery level at 19 also, you have what everyone calls a '0-gap'. You'll get a whole lot of overall experience, but very little SP experience. If you're level 19 and your highest Skill Mastery level is at 10, you have a '9-gap', because there is a gap of 9 levels between your overall level and your highest Skill Mastery level. This way, you'll get little overall experience, but a whole lot of SP experience. Any higher of a gap than 9 levels, and the effect stops. Having an 11 level gap is the same as having a 9 level gap. It's pointless.
Having a 0-gap isn't advisable, because when you reach level 70(the highest level), you'll be EXTREMELY short on SP points.
I've answered all of your questions to the best I could, and I'm sure now you've got even more questions. But I'm glad to help.

hello and welcome to the sro community
first i must say that u can find answers to your questions faster and more efficient by using search option in forum (at least by posting questions and answer section^^). but since you are new i will try to help as much as i can
1. a tank/tanker is a char who can take large amounts of damage and survie out of battle versus mobs and other chars in pvp fights..
2.a Sos item is a seal item which means its more powerful then a regular item of same type which is bought from npc or got as a drop from mobs(you can see how more stronger each degree of SOx then others in various other threads in this forum i think)
3. elixirs are little miracles that enchants your items to be a little stronger for every plus when usage of elixir is sucsess basically.. and lucky powder helps elixir to succsees in alchemy
4. since there is no 4th question i will put a smiley here. there you go :
5.botters are people who use illegal programs to automaticly levep up and or collecting gold on their chars. and for farmers.. its hard to make a summary for farming so i am afraid u will have to find out about yourself in srf
wish i could be helpful.have a fun play
ps: u guys feel free to flame me if i talked bullshit up there
