when does the power of a hybrind int start to show?

Post by CodeOfSilence »

im lvl 40 right now, my physical attack is like 74% and my magical attack is 64%. i have 116 str and 122 int points, into my character right now. So my HP and MP are about the same give or take a little bit more int. Yesterday i thiefed up and run across a hunter lvl 39 full int or so he said, he had sos sword and sos shield or something or his gear was plused and he was wearing garments and he was beating me with 2 nukes.

Now my question. is my character messed up for a hybrid int? when can i start to see results from it if its not messed up. Right now what i will do for the nextt 30 lvls is to put everything into int. Will that save this character and make it better or is this character not going anywhere and is a lost cause?

I read somewhere that hybrid ints start to show how strong they are around the 50+ lvls, so just asking if my character is totally messed up or if i put those stat points for the next 30 lvls into int will make this character any better?

I need some opinions from people who have hybrid ints please :).

this is how u determine if u stick with a character or not

how long did it take u to build the character to the level it is today ..was it awfuly hard?

hybrid int is not the best build in the game no...and especialy not for a bow ..id suggest starting over i began with a str heavy blader took me forever to build it but i was really unhappy with the build and which skills i had i was at the verge of just giving up the game but decided to make a 2nd character a pure with skills built perfectly the way i wanted. almost everyone messes up their first build the first build is a learning experience u either spend a few months more building a hybrid that u will be questioning its worthiness or u start new and in a month or two u r back to the level you r today and r happy with the pureness of the account btw i love my build now and am very glad i changed accts. ..if uhave to go int go int heavy sword..so u can be a tanking nuker

The power of anything does NOT show until lvl 70 fully farmed.

It will never really show. If you put the rest of the points into int, you will most likely always go down from two nukes. Pure int is a hybrids worst enemy. Your nukes do shitty damage and you can usually not chop him down before he gets off two nukes.

Ultimately, this game isnt really about build, its about matchups and gear. If you have significantly better gear, you win - unless you fight an int :/

Think I got lucky with mine...

went 50/50 till about 32, then poured it all into Int since then - now lvl39

and have a +3 shield and a +4 sword

My balance with Blues of 12Str 24Int are:

Str 72%
Mag 82%

My tots with blues are:

Str 107
Mag 152

and can pretty often beat people at lvl42-43 ^^

though I get my share of thrashings as well ;)

Just gotta de-lvl some of my mastery's later with cursed hearts...

But really like my Char now!

Can't wait for 42 though as finally got a good SOS Shield +4 and SOS Sword - yet to be plused ^_^

both my chars have been hybrid

first
50/50 int str til level 20 pure int after that

current
2:1 all the way

anyways both my chars have managed to pwn and the 2:1 i can brag is prob one of the best builds who else can stand a pure int and pure str and tank mobs with great power?

just to add...

I'm going to aim for about 2Int / 1Str overall... this seems to be considered the best option for a Hybrid and is working out just great for me.

Have fun with yours - and don't forget the Blue Ints / Strs too ^^

I would have to say around 42. It depends though. If you are pvping or not.. i would say 52 is for pvping and 42 for monsters.

A nice mix of 2:1 hybrid INT is good, and probably most powerful in PvP all together. You do have to know how to play it right, and maybe add a bit extra into INT if you know when. Hybrid definitely depend gear big time and will only start getting good around lvl 5x. A sword hybrid INT (not 1:1 but 2:1 type of build) can be very easily undefeatable in PvP.

hybbies tend to become weak at the cap due to equipment limits and insane CCFers/rich people who throw all sorts of crap into their weapons. I like to stay in the mid-level range for more variety and room for style.

i have been hybrid since day 1. but i can honestly say that my build didnt' start to shine til the upper 6X. now that i am 70 and mostly farmed, my build shows it strength. but it is a lot due to the fact that i have good gear that this is possible. i ahve maxed HP and much of the possible str on my gear, giving me over 10k HP. it helps a lot.

I don't agree with that, an hybrid can be very good, depending on how you play it / gear your char is wearing (98% ?). And yes, hybrids can win vs some full int / str builds :D

Ok, I notice a number of things here:
1. I don't see your weapon of choice. Based on the distribution of str and int I'd say use spear for now, and perhaps (if you so choose) switch to sword/shield later.
2. You seem to hardly have any points in str/int from your equipment. I'd expect a hybrid int to have about 80-90% naked mag balance, but with good equipment that should rise at least 10%. My own naked mag balance is 90%, but with clothes it's 107-110%. Something similar with my physical balance; this makes a huge difference in the damage you deal, and the HP you have as well (the +STR will help with that).
3. You were fighting a pure int while he was wearing garments. This means he's well protected from your nukes (I'm not sure what you were wearing, but garments would have been beneficial against his nukes), but he's extremely vulnerable against STR users. I wouldn't be surprised if a good STR bow user would one-shot him. While this is a valid choice for him to make, it doesn't make this is a fair comparison for your build's strength.
4. Any build is greatly depending on its skills. I don't see yours mentioned here at all. Do you use electricity to increase your magical damage? Do you use fire to reduce his magical damage? Do you use the spear passive to increase your HP? What gap between your level and masteries do you use, and what was his?

yeah you are right, my equips dont have much hp/mp or str/int. its a waste of elements and money at this lvl to try and make your gear better.

that's not true, your gonna end up getting the elements you use on your way either way, you might as well try pimp up your eq you have, sell it to make mass money from it and then use that money to pimp up your next degree and so on. Some elements are hard to find like wind 2 but that's where destroying 2nd and 3rd deg eq comes to play to get that. But I guess it depends on how lucky you are with alchamy, sometimes if you have a bad day after 3 fails wait a day and try again.
