Just a quick note, one of the reason many guilds ask for players level xx and up is because their main player base is around that level.
It's difficult for players of significantly lower levels to fit in amongst all higher level players. the reason is they just can't survive in the same areas while jobbing, warring or grinding and will feel left out and resentful.
Many higher level players also lack patience to help newer players. New players have alot of questions that the older players may have answered many times. Sadly many new players also beg. They see the gear of a higher level and assume they are rich (I assure you many are not) so they ask for gear and money.
Smarter guilds will recruit the person not the character. An active and intelligent player will blend in to any level guild very well. I'm glad to see that there are still some out there looking to increase their player base.
We have a few players age 15 in the Mayhem guild already - the 18+ age requirement is not set in stone. We just prefer not to have younger players in the guild (under 12) because the maturity level is so different from players in the 15-18 or over age group that it doesn't make for a very cohesive group to have them in our guild.
Posting that we are looking for age 18+ players may get a few inquiries from players close to that age, but discourages the very young which makes things easier on everyone.
