New to the game, good first character?

Post by irishcream69 »

I was planning on making either a pure str fire glaiver or a pure int nuker. Which one would be better for making me some money? Both seem good for pvp (glaiver seems better), which i plan to do eventually, but I'm not sure which one would be best considering my serious lack of gold. Also, would you suggest sp farming with a character with no money for a good farming outfit, or should I just 0 gap until i can get some good gear? Or maybe a moderate gap of 2-3 would be sufficient, I really have no idea. Thanks. :)

depends how much time you have, and how long you are willing to take to cap on whether u want to go for glaive or nuker. For making money fast, if you have a monkey I'd say nuker cuz u can 1-hit stuff and get a lot faster drops that way. However, you use a lot of mp pots, though not many hp while training since u should be 1-hitting or 2-hitting stuff. Go to bandit stronghold, pick up gold after people who train to make a little fast cash. And then just picking up items from stronghold and NPCing them can make money for pots, arrows, etc. with a little extra even without picking up much gold. SP Farming with a high gap is usually best done in a place with high spawn rates, such as bandit fortress or blood devil flowers. Also at higher lvls penons and yetis are pretty good for farming. You can adjust your gap depending on how much patience you have, that stuff really doesn't matter that much, as long as you have enough sp to get the skills u need to have a better, easier time in PvE
(PvP can wait til later lvls! It's not that fun to get 1-shotted by every person :( ) in SRO (ex: imbue, nuke, chains for blader, Soul Spear / Ghost Spear for Glaiver, Anti-Devil for archer, etc. etc.)

Thanks for the money making tips, those should help out a bunch. One more question: would it be a good idea to make some money with one character and not worry about sp farming for ever with crappy equipment (I was going to try and 9 gap at level 16 for a while, but I'm not sure what kind of equipment I should be shooting for)? I've decided I want to try out a pure str glaiver, but I have a pure int nuker to level 10 or so already that I could try and make money with. Would this be a good idea, or would I be able to make a decent amount of money with the glaiver (enough for some decent sp farming equips)? If someone could suggest a reasonably affordable weapon I should try to shoot for before I sp farm, that would be perfect. Sorry for all the newb questions, any help would really be appreciated, thanks again.
