What does +1, +2 etc on the items mean?

What does +1, +2 etc on the items mean? What exactly does it do?

You get +1 and +2 (up to +9 i believe, but it takes a lot of elixirs, cash, luck, astrals to get there) when you successfully use a weapon elixir on a weapon.

Basically, if you have a lvl24+1 bow, it should have stats equivalent to a lvl 25 bow. A lvl24+3 (+3 gives you a nice shine on your weapon) should have stats equivalent to a lvl 27 bow, etc.

EllisD is correct except for one thing. The maximum amounts of + is +255

NPC = Non Player Character (Computer generated characters not controlled by a human)
