uhuh... i had one in my guild who's been somewhat chatting with the guy players there...and eventually they give "her" items and such... she managed to have sos blade, a wolf, and sos equipments until level 38... and one day.. BOOM! she said she got hacked and started over! she stopped pm-ing me when i didn't give her any items (as she lent around 2.5M from my guildmate!!!! and i myself was short in gold).

when she started a new char, she kept on messaging me... asking to be back in the guild... well for me, to protect my guildmates, i told her she can come back when she's level 42.... but that didn't stop her from contacting some of my guildmembers and managed to get some items to "help" her level up... oh and yeah... i was told she still got her wolf... oh and did i mention that she had a str hybrid char (with her new char she's been asking me what build to have and blah blah)?

days after i kicked her hacked char from the guild, my members started asking what happened to her and that they said they've been giving her items and all that... ugh...........

and yeah... whenever i go to donwhang... many kept on asking for gold... wtf!!

Yeah. I would help out any guildmate who needs help in dire cash situation. However, begging to buy something isn't the way to go. It's ridiculous that they ask you for money to buy gear YOU can't even afford. It's like asking a homeless to get a mansion in Malibu.

Ask him/her to stop and if continue, kick man. A guild is suppose to be about helping each other and get stronger as a group, not a place for individuals to take advantage of others.

Edit: love suicidegrl system. I was thinking something along that line but never really implement it.

I got 50mil lone to buy my sos blade level 64.
I'm waiting in my cold cell, when the bell begins to chime.
Reflecting on my past life and it doesn't have much time.
'Cause at 5 o'clock they take me to the Gallows pole,
The sands of time for me are running low.

Can it be that there's some sort of error.
Hard to stop the surmounting terror.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream.

if you find yourself in a sutiation in which you need help with something - KSers, being attacked in job, etc. - i'm there in a heartbeat. yes. i will leave my corner in the caves, which i waited in line for and likely fought off other people for, to come KS the 4X who is SKing my 4X guildie for 20 mins until he apologizes or leaves. yes. i will leave my corner of the cave, which during this event means valuable bonus SP lost and the chance for rare items increased, to beat up on the thief who is trying to pop my guildie. these things i have no problem with. there are those here who are not in my guild - or even in my alliance - that i still will drop everything to help out. imy friends come first no matter what.

BUT, if it's habitual, and they do nothing but trade all day and then wonder why they get popped so easily because they never lvl up, i take issue. if they want help w/ a KSer every time a nuker accidentally splashes their mobs, i have a problem. if they beg for gold to buy a santa suit, there's something wrong. so i just don't recruit those types of people. anyone who has joined BH lately knows that i spend a lot of time qualifying people before i give them a shot, and i often give people a trial period in which we see if i tworks out.

BH used to have a whole application process when Pro was in charge. we've gotten away from it, and i think it has helped. we're not the highest-lvl guild on Xian right now, but we are super active, friendly, helpful, and i love logging on. first time i could say that in a while now.

the system we have in place now works really well. everyone looks out for each other, encourages each other to grind and lvl up, etc. we're on a 500 GP/week system now; either grind 500GP (which takes, what, an hour?) or get a warning. two consecutive warnings and you're out. (warnings seperated by weeks in which you do your 500 don't generally lead to a kick unless it's habitual). then, the top 3 GP earners in the guild get union chat and the top 5 get recruitment ability (which comes w/ the responsibilities listed above). it's an imperfect system, as it favors farmers, but i'm looking for a way to moderate that; perhaps dividing GP total each week by mastery gap that week? not sure that'll directly translate either though. i keep an excel spreadsheet w/ everyone's weekly totals, and take SS right before inspection each week for that week's numbers. i send each member a mail telling them how much they got that week and what their starting total is for the coming week, and then award powers accordingly. it takes a long time for me to do, but everyone in the guild LOVES the system, and i have to say that i have the most active BH that has ever existed right now. we're back up to 32 members, and there's nearly always a bunch of people online except for server peak hours when it's hard to get on.

does anyone else use a system like this? i know DarKStalKer on Xian does, as i worked out my system based in part on some things they do. curious to know what kinds of things other guilds are doing.

we have the same but with 1k gp and gold ticket requirement(if your not capped that is). It's a system that works really well, I post lineup every saturday so all know how much the MINIMUM 1k gp is made. It's not alot but its enough. Might be raised in future... And if someone begs I just ask them: Do you NEED it? or do you WANT it? there is a big difference there...Those that have guildstorage rights are people that have been around for along time together, the newest members get it sooner or later. Nothing of worth in there, some tabs and elements n random isy drops(ty paink1ller^^)

Helping other people is always good, but noticing too late that hey are abusiveis your own fault. If they ask and ask for items, it comes from your hard work, not theirs. Be mindful that your inly making them more richer. We must always remember that working for our own benefits should be the first priority.

Dont take an item from them...

Take all of their items.. >;p

Just an update. The people that were begging managed to borrow a significant amount of gold form a member, despite my suggestion not to. They promptly told him that they got hacked and lost it all. They then left the guild on their own.

Another friend of theirs told us that they joined our guild specifically to get money from us. He didn't tell us before because they threatend to 'hack' him if he did. I captured it in screenshots, but scamming is not against the EULA.

SwinkieJ (lev 66) and deSpised (lev 29ish) formerly of Dutchkillers were the culprits.

All persons associated with those 2 have since been removed from the guild.

The person that loaned the money is a bit wiser (and a bit poorer) today than they were, but he is ok.

Remeber this when people say "just loan them the money"

yes, we are lvl 5, but the newest guild update allows guilds to spend GP on lots of things like logos, mercenaries, recall scrolls, etc. so even lvl 5 guilds have GP now.

@hellsharpt: sorry to hear that. hence why our standards are so high. :(

We have nothing to spend our GP on anymore. Tons and tons of it. Even buying stuff doesnt slow it down.

Guild storage? Ummm... we had some neato stuff in there. Till someone got hacked and they cleaned it out. But like I said, nothing valuable belongs in there, and it won't be missed.

Excuse me for my stupidity but did SG mean "your character's strength comes from YOUR strength of the character" as in the STR stats points? or the roleplaying aspect character side of your ingame avatar, or the character aspect of the person you are in real life?

To me that statement is more like confusing :X

The quote in bold is the funniest thing i've read today here, made me lol.

Back in topic, what I do is telling to stop begging on the guild chat, if they dont, its kick, and anyone with kick rights can kick the begger. We dont have much problem with that.

Actually the only time as i remember we had that problem is back when they gave gave us the guild renovation update, since as a lv 5 guild we had 0 GP to start off, so I wanted to get GP asap, and went to bandit stronghold to recruit a bunch of random sp farmers with no guild there.
As a result we got some beggers, but they got quickly taken care of. In the end even tho some members didnt like my attempt to get a quick GP boost, we still got some decent GP from them, and some of those still remains with us and some even leveled up a bit, the majority of them is gone tho.

what i mean is that your character in-game, along with all his/her reputation, ability in battle, etc., comes from who YOU are as a person. whether we want to admit it or not, how we play our characters reflects on who we are as people. you could be the nicest person in the world, but if you play your character like a dick, you'll be perceived that way. you could be the most independent and out-together person ever, but if you beg for things and constantly scream for help when bad things happen, you'll always be perceived as weak. that's why botters have no repect in the game; they took the easy way out, so even if they have strong characters, they will always be looked down on.

Well, my new char isn't a guild member yet, so i haven't had the "pleasure" of begging guildies; but it seems that not a gaming session passes without some guy going "pliz i ned 10k pslllllllllllll" (horrid spelling intended :P ).

Let me say first that i consider most of the beggars retarded creatures that rank somwhere between an amoeba and an used condom; offcourse those standing in the middle of a town and yelling "i need money pls!" rank waaaaaay lower. But i saw some examples of intelligent, non-offensive, begging: for example a guy had a stall in Jangan that said something like "raising money for a wolf", he was selling some way overpriced crap, but his in stall message he said that there's no need to insult him; if someone wanted to help, fine, if not- also fine. Offcourse, in the time he was stalling he could of killed some mobs and get some cash, but anyway, i thought he was a decent guy, and i was inclined for a second to give him some gold (but then my cheap bastard instincts kicked in and i left the stall :D ) .

Another form of begging (and one that at lower levels most players did) is asking for res and help (when they get swarmed). If i could res (wich i can't  ) i'd never ever res someone that keeps spamming "resssssssssssssssssssssssssss", i hate that sh!t. Also, when someone asks for help, i look at the character: if you're a lvl 3 geting pownded by white tigers after attacking them first with your mighty copper blade/bow/whatever you're an idiot and deserve to die.

My retired char was a member of a guild and yes, i somehow managed to get talked into borrowing some items to other guildies (wich i rarely or never sa again)

And that's about it for now, i posted mainly because i get sooooo bred at work :D :D
