me and my friend playing the game he got DSL and the game works good for him and wihtout lags he only rarely suffers from lags only when everyone does but i have a router and i cant play becasue its sooo laggy and i think its might be because of my router and i think that if i will open SRo ports in my router it will be less laggy

Hey roflskates,
I'm not sure of the port(s) SRO uses, but I have a Linksys router and have no problems with Silkroad or any online games. If you can connect to any SRO server, then closed ports wouldn't be the problem.
Could you tell us what type of internet connection you have (DSL, Cable, ect) and if you know it, the speed?
Do you have lag problems with any other online 3D games?
Also make sure your computer meets the system requirements for SRO, as your CPU or graphics card could be the problem.

I am 99% sure that SRO doesn't require any port forwarding for normal operation. Do you know who else is on that router, and whether they are doing something to use up bandwidth?
Also, what kind of lag are you experiencing? If you click to move somewhere and don't move for several seconds, but the motion itself is smooth, the problem is likely somewhere in your internet connection. If you click to move somewhere and start moving fairly quickly, but the motion is jerky, it's more likely to be your hardware (video card, RAM, processor).

Start -> Run -> type cmd
Type netstat -ao
Shows a list of all active connections, you should be able to work out which is the silkroad one, it will show the ports used.
Also you can try netstat -an
I also have a router & didn't need to open ports for SRO, although different routers have different rules, yours may require every single port that will be used to be varified with the router first.
You could have a bad internet connection or something swallowing all its bandwidth or even some choke somewhere due to bad tcp settings.
