Imbue damage after patch is nerfed
Imbue damage after patch is nerfed
Playing on Tibet server. L33 Int char.
Used to be able to kill off Earth Ghosts and Meek Gunpowder with 4 bowshots. Just a regular bow with some Int apparel. L6 fire imbue and L3 must piercing force. Doing about 400 damage per hit.
After the patch I can hardly kill the above same creatures with 5 shots. Usually takes 6 or more. Now doing 300 or less per hit.
There were some issues regarding magic damage during the patch. I'm guessing they are not all resolved. So does anyone have the same problem? And when can we expect another patch if it is a real problem?
Strangely, my L1 fire nuke is doing roughly the same damage as before. Only imbues seem to be affected. Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks

yea, seems like my imbue only also been lowered down the damage but the damage of my nukes still remains the same! usually i killed a earth warriors nuke + imbue + lion shout + 2-3 hits wif sword
but now is like nuke + imbue + lion shout + 5-6 hits but my imbue already finish at the 4th hit
got any other nukers also been affected?

Thanks for all the replies. For a moment there I thought I screwed up downloading the patch somehow and got my character's damage messed up.
I have made a bug report to Joymax regarding the matter. I'm not very hopeful though.
I think this problem is slow in coming to light because Int players are usually nukers and may not imbue before their hits. As mentioned previously, nuke damage seems to be about normal or not very significantly changed
Str players may have their own set of issues: http://www.silkroadtavern.com/forums/in ... opic=24627
As their damage may have gone up (for some reason), it would counterbalance the decrease in imbue and would have been more difficult to note.
My guess is that while coding, they miscoded a damage factor for imbue magic damage into weapon damage instead or something thus increasing Str player damage and screwing up Ints.
Once again, I'm asking all players to test with imbue only.
If there's no foreseeable change. I'm quitting the character and making a Str one instead.

If you are using nukes only, there will be no difference since nukes do not seem to be significantly affected.
If you are using nuke+imbue, there will be a slight difference but probably not very noticeable since nukes do most of the damage.
If you are using imbues only... the difference is HUGE.
That's the point of the whole thread. Imbues are the component which is affected... or more precisely a high level imbue. In other words, levelling the imbue does not seem to increase the damage much.
P/S - I think perhaps the problem here lies in the increase of magic damage per each level of skill. I'm at nuke book1 level1 which probably explains why nukes stay at the same damage for me. But my Fire imbue is at L6... tried to increase it to L8 even to compensate but that did very little difference.
That would explain why the higher levelled players have some differences from nukes... probably they put more than 1 level in it.
