I'm guessing, therefore, that you were primarily referring to PVP scenarios?

In those cases you are absolutely right - bard doesn't really help at all in PVP. But to be honest, capping will take quite some time, and until that happens, having bard will give me speed + protection while soloing and a much-needed bard role in parties.
Cleric is obviously more useful during (1 on 1) PvP, but also more useful during solo PvE in my opinion. This is due to the way you should grind with a Warlock.
As solo Warlock all you want to do is use (single target) DoT attacks and keep running around. If you have decent gear 1 DoT for each mob would be enough, but with clean gear you'll need to use 2. This way you'll be able to spend most of your time in zerk mode.
- Speed is important for this, but you can rely on speed potions rather than go with a Bard sub for this.
- Noise is useless in my opinion because you're not as squishy as a Wizard and anything close to you should already be running behind you with a DoT on it.
- Recovery Division will be really helpful to heal you should you get hit. Using your Vampire skills will be too slow if you have a bunch of mobs chasing you.
- Other Cleric skills (e.g.: Bless Spell,...) will help you a lot more as well.
- I also prefer the access to Light Armour, which you won't get as a Bard.
It's your character of course, so you decide. ^^
Damnit... Now I want to play Warlock/Cleric again...

It's the most awesome build after all.
And I will also have a Chinese on the side which I'll play when there's no EU parties.

Assuming BlackHand gets recreated (should be), then sure. Spots will be limited in the beginning again, but people from SRF will have priority.
