FBI Spent $3 Million on Drones

The FBI has spent more than $3 million on unmanned aircraft from 2004 through May 2013, according to an audit released Thursday by the Inspector General.

The Department of Justice's law enforcement entities have spent $3.7 million on drones between four of its agencies, according to the report, though the FBI accounted for 80 percent of the amount. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had spent nearly $600,000 on drones to use in future operations.

The FBI told the Inspector General's Office they did not believe there was any difference between collecting evidence through a drone or a manned aircraft.

3.7million on the how many bill budget for defense? They should probably care more about the amount of things wasted in government buildings. Thats probably a lot more than those drones xD

I'd much rather have some drones flying high looking at us in the streets then watching our private usages of our phones and computers and shit.

Didn't see that mentioned. Now, of course if they actually did that, it would be a bit of a concern.
But honestly, if they actually spied on every single law abiding citizen it would have cost way more than $3 million.
I wouldn't be all too worried about this.

Stupid, this thread is. Be more concerned about the billion or so the government keeps spending on "the latest and greatest" military hardware research which often times goes over budget, and does not work at all, or something older (and far cheaper) does the same thing or better.
