For a situation like this, it's hard to show empathy towards a kid who whips out a knife on public transit and then ignores orders to drop the knife. Why couldn't just save his own life and dropped the knife? That's my reasoning.

I'd show more empathy if the kid had a mental illness or something, or even a mental lapse, but that has yet to be proven.

Shooting him because they think he has a bomb strapped to him is illogical in this situation. If he does have a bomb on him and you shoot him, you're shooting a bomb. These people shot the kid 9 times LOL.

Well any reason for shooting him in this situation is illogical . He was armed with a knife and stepped forward once, unless he can ricochet off the bus and stab a officer, it makes more sense that they were afraid he had some actual lethal shit on him (pistol, w/e). Or the police are just totally retarded. Who knows, I'm not canadian

I guess we'll have to wait for the investigation report if they ever release it, but again, if it were one of those cultural knives, iirc it's usually worn in front of your abdomen and sheaved, there would be no good reason for it to be drawn.
