Just copy whatever tomshardware has for best cpu/gpu of the month. I no longer waste any energy on this since they do such a good job getting the most bang for your buck.

Buying from ibuypower you understand that you are giving them a profit for your chicken shittinest.

You should really try to buy the parts individually by yourself, it'll save you more money

Games, editing large photos and videos, and yes HD porn with surround sound -- preferably in 3D.

I'm going to have to say just buy the parts and build it yourself, it will be a lot cheaper than most sites where you pick your parts and they sent you a built rig.

Something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1mHL9

Now you can also change the processor to an i7 and bump the ram up to 16gb if you can afford it.

terrible suggestion, there is virtually zero need for an i7.

I got one question that I've been pondering myself and about the pcpartpicker build above, is 128 GB SSD necessary, assuming it's only going to hold Windows?

And as mentioned above, if you know how to build a PC yourself, you're going to save some money by just building it yourself. I am not an expert when it comes to building PCs so I would feel more comfortable when someone who actually knows more about this stuff does it for me (and especially if you're building a PC worth over a thousand dollars).

Windows and programs/games you want to load faster.

Building a computer is pretty easy. I felt the same way before I built my first rig. Just watch a couple youtube videos guiding you through the process and you should be able to do it no problem. It's just like playing with expensive legos, really, all the connections required are keyed a certain way so there's no way you can mess it up.

If you still feel uncomfortable with building and worried you might fry something with static electricity then you can build or buy a static wrist strap that will discharge any electricity you have built up.

EDIT: @Love I agree, but someone might want that extra little boost to make it a little faster.

I did exactly this when I built my first computer, there's actually very little for it to go wrong, just don't be stupid with your parts (ie. don't bend them)

Another thing is to never touch the pins on the cpu/motherboard, that will really fuck you over.

Yes there is. It's called hyper threading. It helps with rendering videos which is what inky said he was going to be doing along with gaming. Mind you it's only about a 30% increased speed for rendering HD videos. That would mean if a video were to take an hour and a half to render with a processor that doesn't have HT, it would only take about 1 hour to complete with a HT enabled processor.

I take back my internet shouting, did not see him mention video and picture editing, not familiar with ht performance for those so I rather not say anything. That being said a 30% boost is massive but I doubt ht provides that much.

Intel claims a 15-30% performance increase when doing something that utilizes hyper threading. I just said 30% because why the hell not? Lol :sohappy:

The noise maybe? I have no experience with liquid cooling myself but I hear they are pretty darn quiet. I had intel stock cooler with my i5-3770K, it wasn't terribly loud but still noticeable, I bought Dark Rock Pro 2 (which is like 80 euros but still, no complaints) and honestly, I can't really hear anything anymore, gaming or office, it is really quiet.

Unless you plan on running dual gpus in the future I'd go for a Z77/78 platform instead. The only reason for going X79 is to utilize the extra pcie lanes or to get multithreaded performance from 6core/8core cpus. Since you're going for a single card setup and opting for the quad core 3820, you'd actually see a slight performance increase going for an i7 3770k or i7 4770k. Also if you're working/gaming on at 1920x1080/1200 the gtx 780 is overkill. The 770 gets similar performance (at 1920x1080, 780 shines at higher resolutions) for ~200 less. Depending on whether or not u need CUDA I'd consider a Radeon card too, single 7950/7970 should work. GL with your purchase and whether or not you decide to build or buy from ibuypower an informed consumer is always more happy with their decision.
